UNDERSTANDING COURSE LEVELS
Honors This is a rigorous college preparatory course which demands a high level of critical
thinking and above-average analytical reading skills. The pacing of the course requires students to work outside of the classroom.
Academic This is a college preparatory class. Students should expect regular homework
assignments in these classes. Homework is designed to reinforce and extend concepts learned in class.

UNDERSTANDING COURSE LEVELS
College in High School (CHS) This is a college-level class offered through our school’s
partnership with a local university. Students may earn college credits upon successful completion of the course .
Advanced Placement This is a first year college level course that follows the
College Board’s syllabus and prepare students for the Advanced Placement Exams offered in May each year. Students that sign-up for an Advanced Placement class are expected to take the Advanced Placement Exam in the course(s) that they complete.
