Lessons learned on the track are trans-ferred directly into the development of our road cars and other performance products. And the new range of Polestar Performance Parts is no exception – it was also designed and developed with the same philosophy: to deliver enhanced driving performance all year round, any where you go.

It is our passion for driving that led us to launch the range of Polestar Performance Parts. Developed by the same team responsible for our motorsport success and dynamic road cars, the new Polestar Performance Parts program fulfills our engineering philosophy by delivering a balanced, energetic driving experience. In all situations.

The Polestar Performance Parts are designed for all the parts of the car that are critical to improving its performance. They can be pur­chased as a Complete Performance Package, which includes everything from improvements to the chassis, wheels and tires, intake and exhaust as well as aerodynamic and interior parts. Any one of these components will create

a more compelling drive and can, if preferred, be bought in separate packages as well.

They were developed and tested in com­bination with Volvo Cars to the same high standards as all Volvo products, ensuring a perfect fit and finish, with enhanced perfor­mance and no impact on the Volvo original warranty.

Intake. The Polestar sports air filter enhances airflow to the engine, thus increasing performance without affecting durability.

Exhaust. The new stainless steel exhaust will give the engine note a harder edge, while letting other discerning road users know you are driving something special. Designed to reduce pressure, the exhaust will allow the engine to breathe more freely, providing a performance increase.

Diffuser. The rear diffuser is designed to channel the air more effectively under the car, contributing to greater downforce. It is also a perfect fit for the Polestar exhaust. Not only does the diffuser function at high speed, it gives the car a more aggressive look, ensuring the larger tailpipes have plenty of room to be seen and heard.

Rear spoiler. The Polestar rear spoiler has been intensively tested to aid airflow, contributing to greater high­speed stability and aerodynamic efficiency. As an added benefit, it also provides a more stylish appearance.

Gearshift knob. The Polestar gearshift knob is available for both manual and Geartronic™ transmissions.

21" alloy rims with high performance tires. The lightweight rims help with steering precision. They are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires, which were exhaustively tested in order to find the optimal level of grip.

Volvo XC60 – Polestar Performance Parts.XC60 owners who want to transform the performance and appearance of their car can opt for the Complete Performance Package. It includes the Chassis Package, Wheel Package and the Intake & Exhaust Package, as well as a number of interior and exterior

components. Alternatively, XC60 drivers can elect to purchase separate Performance Packages, such as the Chassis Package, with its Polestar­developed shock absorbers and coil springs. The Intake & Exhaust Package, which includes a Polestar air filter and stain­

less exhaust system, providing improved engine breathing and a more distinctive soundtrack. And finally the Wheel Package if you want to add 21" Polestar lightweight alloy rims with high­performance tires for improved grip and handling.

Rear spoiler. The Polestar rear spoiler has been intensively tested to aid airflow, contributing to greater high­speed stability and aerodynamic efficiency. As a bonus, it also provides a more stylish appearance.

19" alloy rims with high performance tires. The light­weight rims help with steering precision. They are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza tires, which were exhaustively tested in order to find the optimal level of grip.

Strut bar. Unique to the S60 and V60 is the strut bar. It is available as part of the Chassis Package, along with uprated shock absorbers and springs. The strut bar is designed to aid steering precision and prolong tire life.

Volvo S60 and V60 – Polestar Performance Parts.Polestar has a huge amount of experience with the S60 and V60 platform. We have raced them around the world, won champion­ships, built a thrilling concept car based upon it, and taken every component to the limit to explore the car’s full potential. So when it came to the new Polestar Performance Parts, the engineering and test teams were able to draw on their vast experience.

S60 and V60 owners who want to add per­formance and transform the appearance of their car can purchase the Complete Per­formance Package. It includes the Chassis Package, Intake & Exhaust Package and the Wheel Package. Each component has been thoroughly developed and tested to optimize the driving experience. Furthermore, the Complete Performance Package includes

a number of parts designed to enhance the appearance, such as black door mirrors and door decor stripes, as well as a Polestar gear­shift knob and sport pedals. Each package can be bought separately if preferred.

Shock absorbers and springs. The Chassis Package includes Polestar shock absorbers, which were developed for high performance without adversely affecting comfort. A set of shorter, stiffer coil springs also help to control body movement.

Volvo V40 – Polestar Performance Parts.The inherent agility of the V40 has been optimized by our engineers, who were able to develop a suspension system as part of the new Performance Parts program. New Polestar shock absorbers and springs were extensively tested to ensure the driver enjoys tauter, more precise handling. When used in combination with the new Polestar

19" rims and high­performance tires, the V40 will deliver a level of handling and comfort that will encourage you to find the long way home.

The suspension and wheels are available to V40 owners as part of the Complete Performance Package. It also includes a sports intake and exhaust, plus a number of

interior and exterior components to enhance every aspect of the car. The aerodynamically optimized rear spoiler, for example, is only available as part of the Complete Performance Package and will deliver greater high­speed stability. Each package can be bought separately if preferred.

Polestar Performance Optimization.Drive­E is Volvo’s most advanced power­train ever. As a result, the new generation of Polestar Performance Optimizations has addressed no less than five critical performance areas. Our engineers took a holistic approach during the development, taking it to the next level of performance and driving experiences. Together, the optimizations deliver a faster, more precise and intuitive driving experience, which has created a car with a rewarding and predictable behavior – traits that are important for all forms of active driving, regardless of whether it is on the racing circuit or the open road.

THE FIVE AREAS OF OPTIMIZATION:

Throttle ResponseThrottle response has been optimized for improved feed­back and accelerator reaction, which is ideal for over­taking or during active driving on twisty roads.

Gearshift Speed*The gearshift speed has been increased, allowing the car to accelerate faster and react more directly to the driver’s inputs. For example, it will downshift faster ahead of an overtaking maneuver.

Gearshift Precision & Gear Hold*Gearshift points have been calibrated to efficiently utilize the optimized mid­range performance of the engine. The Gear Hold function maintains the same gear when cornering with high lateral g­force, preventing unwanted mid­corner gearshifts (where possible).

Off-throttle Response*The engine and gearbox have been calibrated to provide faster responses when the driver suddenly lifts off the throttle, ensuring the car remains balanced during fast cornering.

Engine PerformanceAll Drive­E optimizations have been developed to provide greater performance in the engine’s mid­range power­band. This is the rev range the sporty driver uses the most, such as when overtaking, entering a highway or exiting a corner.
