Experimental Data from Maryland

2

Energy distribution for ions received from Maryland in terms of Particle Energy (eV) and Current Spectral Density (A/eV) over the RPA. Curvefit is done to create correct ion distribution to be introduced into the domain.

Electric Field Effect

3

With quasi-neutrality assumption, it is possible to estimate the Electric field using ion density. Previous works used regular cartesian cells and this needed taking the gradient of voltage field to find the electric field.

With AMR meshes, a more complex gradient operation is done to find the electric field without the I,j,k indices.

Tentative Electric Field Results

4

At each timestep, charged species (ions) are moved with the effect of the electrostatic acceleration. Still in the verification process, but initial results show the flowfield has not changed drastically.

Parallelization

5

Parallelization of the software is almost finished. Physical modules are being integrated to the parallel version from the serial version.
