Chicago, is a man of the people..He b is climbed up to a positionin Congress from the lowest roundsof t lie social ladder. He lias beena laborer, a letter carrier, a keeperof an influential gin-mill, a wardpolitician, a Chicago alderman,anda Congressman, successively. MrLawler recently had occasion tocall on Secretary Er.dicotf, and hefound that gentleman surroundedby a frozen halo which displeasedb in. Mi.
