Pemi RSO Course:Archery Ranges, RR Pages 17-18

Archery Range Locations: A field range on the lawn to the right of the drive. Walk-around 3-D Archery Range starting at the kiosk on the left of the Clubhouse driveway. A second walk-around range starts at the Clubhouse and is for sanctioned shoots ONLY. Clubhouse lower level.

Absolutely no firearms discharge or handling on any Archery Range is permitted.

Broadheads and crossbows are permitted only on designated targets.

Never draw back your bow with the arrow pointing at the sky. An accidental release will send the arrow skyward

While searching for arrows, an article of clothing MUST be placed against the target face to alert other archers of your presence in the target area.

Only paper targets and approved 3-D targets are allowed on the Archery Range.

To avoid being in a line of fire, never take shortcuts between 3-D trails or between targets.

Pemi RSO Course:Indoor Range, RR Pages 14-15

Paper targets are the only targets allowed. Where possible, hang the paper targets from the target holders immediately in front of the backstop on a longer target backer. [IR-3]

Permitted calibers are listed. Calibers not listed, no matter how similar to listed calibers, are prohibited in the Indoor Range

Only .22 rimfire caliber rifles may be used. .17 caliber & air/pellet rifles?

Center fire rifles are prohibited, even those that shoot one of the listed calibers

Shooting from any location in front of the established 50-ft firing line is prohibited. Exceptions may be granted by the Board of Directors for specific matches or training sessions

Pemi RSO Course:Indoor Range , RR Pages 14-15

When using the indoor pistol range, the door between the range and the Ready Room must be kept closed

The exhaust fans or the HEPA filtration system (not both) are to be turned on before any firing has commenced

Instructions for operation of the ventilation systems and the heating systems are posted in the Indoor Range

Shooting booths not being used and the door from the firing line to down range should remain closed to promote stronger air flow down range past the shooters

The items to be completed and checked before leaving the Indoor Range is posted on the back of the exit door

Permitted calibers are listed. Calibers not listed, no matter how similar to listed calibers, are prohibited. Only rifles of .22 rimfire caliber may be used; center fire rifle shooting, even rifles that shoot one of the listed calibers, is prohibited.

Pemi RSO Course:Trap Range, RR Pages 15-16

Only clay pigeon targets are allowed.

Shotgun and black powder shot target loads only. No shotshells larger than size 7½.No slugs or buckshot.

Gauges larger than 12 are prohibited.

All shot must fall within the defined area north of the firing lines. No shot may fall in thewetland areas.

Shotguns may be “patterned” with permission.

No other firearms allowed to be shot, except .22 LR rifles during a Biathlon (Olympic)

Scheduled shotgun shoots: trap on Thursday afternoons and 5-Stand on Sunday mornings.

Members may use the trap range when scheduled shoots are not in progress. They must provide their own throwers and keep all pellets within the trap field.

NOTE: Shotguns may also be used on the covered ranges, but all pellets must strike the back berms.

.22LR bolt action rifles w/ iron sights & 5 round magazines. Subsonic rounds only. ~38-40 grain lead bullet; <1,125 fps.Distance to target: 150 m. or 164 feet

All class standing shooters aim at 11.5-cm (4.5 inch) targets. Match class prone contestants shoot at a 4.5-cm (1.8-inch) target.

Eye and ear protection optional.

Winter: x-c skis, snowshoes or walkingSummer: running, biking or walking

~1.5 mi on hiking/X-C trails. 4 stations: 9 shots at steel hanging targets

High Power Range, RR Pages 16-17

Range sign: “OPEN” and the gate is closed, the range is available for shooting. HOT!

Range sign: “CLOSED” and the gate is open, the range is NOT available for shooting. COLD!

If no one is on the firing line, NEVER assume the range is “Open”, regardless of the sign position. Do not set up to shoot without changing the sign to “Closed” and walking/driving down range to verify no one is down range

While down range, ensure that your vehicle can be seen from firing line

When returning from down range, verify that everyone is back, close the gate, and set the sign to “Range Open” before you resume shooting.

When the last person leaves the range, verify no one is down range, the gate is closed, and the sign has been set to “Open.”

High-Power Range, RR Pages 16-17

Paper targets, steel targets, clay birds, balloons, and plastic bottles. No targets may be placed directly on the ground. Jacketed & armor-piercing (including steel-core) ammo is prohibited with steel targets.

The high-power rifle range may be used for rimfire rifles, center fire rifles up to .50 caliber, and muzzle-loading “black powder” rifles of any caliber.

Use of any other firearm, including specifically any handgun, requires prior consent of the Board of Directors

Targets shall be placed in a manner (height and lateral location) that ensures any rounds fired impact one of the berms directly, not the range floor.

To ensure that no rounds pass over the berms, do not elevate the muzzle of your firearm above the target line unless your finger is off the trigger

Outdoor Covered (50- & 100-Yard) Rifle & Pistol Ranges, RR Page 17

Paper targets, clay birds, balloons, plastic bottles, & properly constructed and placed hanging steel targets, but not steel spinning & automatic resetting targets.

Jacketed & armor-piercing (including steel-core) ammo is prohibited with steel targets.

Shooters must position targets at an appropriate height and in line with the muzzle so that all shots hit the end berm directly, not the range floor or side berms, and not over the berms. No targets shall be placed on the range floor.

On the 100-yard range, targets must be placed at least 50 yards from the firing line. There is a 50-yard marker!

Handguns should be restricted to the 50-yard range and the Indoor Range. (NEMO)

Drawing from a holster and rapid-fire shooting is ONLY allowed if all shots impact the end berm directly (RR/GR 3.c)

Shotguns may be used on the covered ranges--all pellets/slugs must strike the back berms

Action Shooting Bays, RR Page 18

Action bays are reserved for competitive events and are not to be used by Club members without written approval from the Board of Directors

When using the Action Bays, the High-Power Rifle Range firing line will be closed and the “Range Closed” sign displayed w/ the gate open

During Cowboy, 3-Gun and similar events, multiple targets, arranged so that some shots hit the side berms will be permitted.

Determination of safe shooting angles shall be at the discretion of the Match Director.

Moving targets, steel targets and various types of barricades may also be used. Jacketed & armor-piercing (including steel-core) ammo is prohibited with steel targets.
