Pello is a great destination.

What are the educational services of Pello special?

Suitable facilities, young teachers and caregivers, and hard working and motivated children.

That’s what the excellent educational services in Pello are made of.

It takes a village…

In Pello, the path from day care to school is refreshingly simple. The new, modern facilities serve children in day care as well as students in both comprehensive school and

upper secondary school. Additionally, they are also ideal for a number of different recreational clubs and activities. Once students complete their comprehensive education, they have the opportunity to attend the town’s high standard upper secondary school or the Vocational College Lappia. Pello’s educational centre has undergone several renovations intended to ensure that all of the municipal facilities meet with today’s standards. The lively learning centre is the pride of Pello. Its existence is already proof that Pello is alive and well.

The Lamsijärvi family moved from Tornio to Pello for work several years ago. In addition to her job, Maria graduated as a school

assistant from Lapland Vocational College and Pauli received his ICT diploma from the Pello campus of the Vocational College Lappia. ”The decision to move to Pello was easy, since the cost of living here is inexpensive and child care was smoothly organised,” explains Pauli. “We settled in quickly, because the local residents were so warm and inviting. We were greeted by everyone and many were interested in talking with us.

Pello is a wonderful place to settle. In the shops, the friendliness of the business owners and employees took us by surprise. It seemed like we had been their clients for years,” Marja says with a smile. There is so much to do in Pello. For recreation, our eldest child goes to the local church club, and during the winter, to skating lessons. Mom is studying signed speech at the open college, and Dad frequents the gym several times a week. “We really enjoy living in Pello. We have access to health care services without ever having to queue. Both boys are enrolled in the new educational centre in Pello: the eldest in preschool and the youngest in day care. When the daily routines are taken care of, it makes life a whole lot easier and nicer,” states Marja.

“A large percentage of our clients are people travelling along route E8, which is a busy, tourist route through the Tornio Valley region. Travellers are drawn in by the breathtaking landscapes and down-to-earth nature of the people in the area. I, myself, have gotten a lot of inspiration for product development from the beautiful surroundings in Pello.”Anna-Liisa Raappana, Lapin Keramiikka Oy / Lapin savi
