1. PROVIDE A COMPLETE FULLY AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER/STANDPIPE SYSTEM, HYDRAULICALLY CALCULATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA AND ALL LOCAL CODES AND REGULATIONS OF THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION. SPRINKLER PIPING LAYOUT AND SPRINKLER LOCATIONS SHOWN ON DRAWING FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

8. ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM AND SHAFT: SPRINKLER CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE HIGH TEMPERATURE HEADS IN CONJUNCTION WITH HEAT/SMOKE DETECTION SYSTEM. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE REQUIREMENTS WITH NFPA AND AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL AND ACCEPTANCE.

11. FLOW ALARM SWITCHES SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE INDICATED ON PLANS AND/OR REQUIRED BY LOCAL CODES. ANNUNCIATE FLOW SWITCHES IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL CODES AND REGULATIONS.

DEMOLITION NOTES:

1. FIELD VERIFY THE EXACT SIZES AND LOCATIONS OF ALL EXISTING PIPING PRIOR TO DEMOLITION OF ANY EXISTING WORK. THE DEMOLITION WORK SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE NEW WORK OF ALL DIVISIONS TO ASSURE PROPER LIMITS OF DEMOLITION.

2. REMOVE ALL EXISTING EQUIPMENT AND ASSOCIATED PIPING, WHETHER SPECIFICALLY INDICATED OR NOT, THAT IS NO LONGER REQUIRED.

3. REMOVE AND CAP EXISTING BRANCH PIPING, NO LONGER REQUIRED TO REMAIN AS PART OF AN ACTIVE SYSTEM, AT THE APPROPRIATE MAIN.

4. ANY PIPING AND DUCTWORK WHICH MUST REMAIN AS PART OF AN ACTIVE SYSTEM AND IS IN CONFLICT WITH THE NEW LAYOUT SHALL BE RELOCATED AT NO ADDITIONAL COST OVER THE CONTRACT AMOUNT.

5. EXISTING FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT AND PIPING REMOVED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE OWNER AND SHALL BE STORED, REMOVED FROM THE JOB SITE, OR DISPOSED OF AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.

6. OPENINGS REMAINING IN WALLS/FLOORS AS A RESULT OF DEMOLITION SHALL BE SEALED WITH AN AIRTIGHT SHEET METAL CAP, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON THE DRAWINGS.

7. ALL BACKFLOW PREVENTER ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE INSTALLED IN AN ACCESSIBLE LOCATION. PIPE RELIEF OUTLET, IF APPLICABLE, SHALL DISCHARGE TO NEAREST FLOOR DRAIN. DO NOT INSTALL ABOVE FINISHED CEILING UNLESS NOTED OR INDICATED OTHERWISE.

8. PROVIDE FLOAT TYPE BACKWATER VALVE (SIZED FOR ANTICIPATED FLOW RATE) IN ALL OPEN SITE DRAINS AND FLOOR RECEPTORS RECEIVING A/C CONDENSATE, AND/OR CLEAR WATER WASTE SUCH AS SPRINKLER FLOW TESTING.

9. ALL PIPING SYSTEMS, VALVES, AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROPERLY IDENTIFIED.

11. HOT, COLD, AND RECIRCULATION WATER SUPPLY MAINS AND BRANCHES SHALL BE INSULATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LOCAL ENERGY CODE.

12. ALL PIPING, VALVES, AND ACCESSORIES SERVING EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED TO ALLOW SERVICING AND/OR REMOVAL WITHOUT DISCONNECTING ALL PIPING AND ACCESSORIES.

13. ALL VALVES SHALL HAVE THEIR NORMAL (IN OPERATION) POSITION IDENTIFIED, SUCH AS "NORMALLY OPEN" OR "NORMALLY CLOSED."

14. EXPANSION LOOPS AND ANCHORS SHALL BE PROVIDED ON ALL PIPING SYSTEMS WHICH CROSS BUILDING EXPANSION JOINTS AND ALL HORIZONTAL PIPING LENGTHS EXCEEDING 100 FT. OR EACH PORTION THEREOF.

15. ALL NECESSARY EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED ON ALL PIPING, UNIONS, VALVES, VACUUM BREAKERS, STRAINERS, ETC. AS REQUIRED TO CONNECT EQUIPMENT AT LOCATION SHOWN, AND TO MAKE FULLY OPERABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LOCAL CODES AND REGULATIONS.

16. DRAINS AND CLEANOUTS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS SPECIFIED AND IN LOCATIONS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS. REFER TO THE DRAIN SCHEDULE, IF APPLICABLE.

17. THESE DRAWINGS ARE SCHEMATIC AND ARE INTENDED TO CONVEY A FUNCTIONAL PLUMBING SYSTEM AND TO DEPICT THE GENERAL LOCATION OF THE PLUMBING COMPONENTS.

18. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE INSTALLATION OF PLUMBING WORK WITH THE WORK OF OTHER TRADES. MINOR DEVIATIONS FROM THE PLANS MAY BE MADE TO AVOID MINOR CONFLICTS. 21. INSTALLATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT AND THEIR ACCESSORIES SHALL BE PER MANUFACTURER'S PUBLISHED RECOMMENDATIONS.
