Easter is more than bunnies and hunting for eggs—it is a remembrance of Christ’s resurrection. In fact this could be the most important season of all for Christians; it is because of His death and resurrection that believers are offered the gift of eternal salvation. God’s love is limitless and mercy endures forever. It is our prayer that everyone who celebrates Easter makes Christ a part of the festivities. Easter Greetings As we celebrate Easter on April 16, 2017, the staff of Ruston Nursing & Rehab would like to wish each and every one of you a very happy holiday. We hope this season is filled with peace and joy. Happy Birthday! Our staff would like to “eggstend” birthday wishes to all our residents having a birthday this month. Hope it’s Eggstra-Special! Please Don’t Throw That Down! Many of our residents enjoy a cigarette every now and then, but our grounds, I assure you, don’t. If you or one of your guests have been guilty of throwing butts on the ground or emptying your ashtray out in the parking lot, please be aware that this is causing quite an unsightly mess for us all. It would only take a second to use an ashtray or a bucket to throw those butts in. Our staff and your fellow residents will be much appreciative and you will be helping to keep our community clean! Peace There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror, for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace. The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the King looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest... perfect peace. Which picture do you think won the prize? The King chose the second picture. "Because," explained the King, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace." —Author Unknown Did You Know?
