What is/Why Seeding?
To identify & remove duplicate, non-existing beneficiaries
To implement AADHAAR based authentication at the Point of Sale (POS) i.e., at FPS
To enable PDS/direct cash transfer for various Government Schemes
If States do not have digitised database, UIDAI shares the UID-demographic data village-wise and the beneficiary identifier no ( Ration Card, Job card etc) can be seeded into this database.
