DOSIMETER READER PDR-1 DESCRIPTION Through the application of technological innovations and advanced microelectronics, SAIC has packaged a dosimeter reader that has all the features necessary to implement a cost-effective dose management system. The PDR-1 provides the basic interface between SAIC’s PD Family of Dosimetry Products and a computer through a standard RS-232 connection. The PDR-1 can also be integrated into new or existing turnstiles for security access control systems. POWER and STATUS lights quickly inform the user of reader and dosimeter status. The manual DOSE RESET will reset a personal dosimeter in a few seconds. It can also be disabled through the com- puter for situations where dose reset must be controlled. The PDR-1 has no pockets or wells, and its smooth face minimizes places for contami- nation to collect. The open interface allows workers to quickly place and retrieve their alarming dosimeters. The universal power supply allows the PDR-1 to operate on any AC voltage between 85 and 265 volts at frequencies between 47 and 440 Hz. And, the PDR-1 is compatible with most dose management systems. DESCRIPTIONThrough the application of technological innovations and advanced microelectronics, SAIC has packaged a dosimeter reader that has all the features necessary to implement a cost-effective dose management system.

It can also be disabled through the com-puter for situations where dose reset must be controlled.

The PDR-1 has no pockets or wells, and its smooth face minimizes places for contami-nation to collect. The open interface allows workers to quickly place and retrieve their alarming dosimeters. The universal power supply allows the PDR-1 to operate on any AC voltage between 85 and 265 volts at frequencies between 47 and 440 Hz. PERSONAL DOSIMETERMANAgEMENT SySTEM (PDMS) • PDMS is a Windows-based software application for calibration, option setting and issue/return for the SAIC PD line of Electronic Dosimeters. The PDMS software allows the user to interface

an SAIC Personal Electronic Dosimeter with the SAIC PDR-1 reader to automati

cally set up, issue, return and evaluate electronic dosimeters. The PDMS software also includes the ability to calibrate and print calibration records, and provides access to all the EPROM (Erasable, Programmable, Read Only Memory)

registers in the dosimeter, allowing read and update capabilities for all the parameters. • The PDMS software is exclusively for use with the SAIC PD line of Electronic Dosimeters, and will function on any standard PC with a Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT operating system.
