The Nulinx-IP Flex is a point-to-point bi-directional microwave link that
brings the high reliability and scalability of carrier grade microwave to
broadcasters. The Nulinx-IP supports data rates as high as 600 Mbps in a 30
MHz Part 101 channel using a single set of antennas, and as high as 1200
Mbps using MIMO technology. It operates with as little as 75 MHz trans-
mit/receive frequency spacing and can use traditional Part 74 (BAS) and
Part 101 (Fixed Microwave Service) microwave channels. Available as an
all-indoor or split system on any licensed or unlicensed band from 5.8
through 42 GHz, IMT’s Nulinx-IP Flex has the flexibility and expandabil-
ity to grow with the users needs.
As broadcasters transition from ASI to IP program transport, the Nulinx IP
flex provides a no compromise scalable solution, with high data rates, ex-
cellent quality of service controls, and a host of future proof features that
provide a simple pathway to backhaul and STL modernization. Because
most features are software key enabled, you buy only what you need
now. Additional bandwidth can be added later as needed.
As auxiliary spectrum becomes more and more scarce, making maximum
use of available channel space is essential. The Nulinx-IP Flex offers adap-
tive modulation constellations up to 2048 QAM, so more bits move in the
same amount of spectrum. Adaptive modulation nearly eliminates outages
when atmospheric conditions, such as heavy rain, do not support the high-
est data rates. Advanced Quality of Service (QoS) controls insure that es-
sential program traffic continues to flow. Header deduplication and other
built-in data compression techniques offer greater throughput in the same
spectrum space.
Nulinx-IP Flex all indoor consists of a 1 RU RF tray that holds the two
complete transceivers and a 1 RU modem shelf. Legacy ASI traffic is sup-
ported through a special transparent ASI to IP multiplexer that requires no
PID remapping. Up to four ASI streams may be transported in each direc-
tion.
IMTs delivers the industry’s most cost-effective and high-capacity solu-
tions for all backhaul and STL modernization challenges.
System Selection
Nulinx-IP’s versatile system of modems, RF units and software features, satisfies the re-
quirements for any point to point link. Regardless of whether an all indoor, all outdoor or
split configuration is best for your application, Nulinx-IP is the solution.
Modem units
The Nulinx-IP modem units s are available in several configurations, including a 1RU non
modular solution, a 1RU modular version and a 2RU modular version. Each version builds
upon it predecessors capabilities.
The IP-20G is a 1 RU non-modular modem for users not requiring a built
-in ASI interface. It supports two full duplex modems, making it perfect
for hot standby applications or as a relay point in multihop systems. The
IP-20G is used in conjunction with all-indoor and outdoor RF Units. It
supports Ethernet speeds up to 500 Mbps per carrier. It supports up to
16 T1/E1 interfaces. The unit supports 5 GPIO programmable contacts.
The IP-20GX is a modular version of the IP-20G. The IP-20GX
supports all the same features as the IP-20G with added support
for an integrated ASI multiplexer card, IP-ASI.
The IP-20A is a fully modular modem shelf that is available as a 2 RU profile.
The IP-20A expands the modularity of the IP-20GX, making it ideal for highly
reliable point to multi-point hubs. The IP-20A supports up to 10 carriers in
one shelf and redundant line cards.
The IP-ASI is an expansion card designed to seamlessly integrate ASI connectivity into the IP
-20GX and IP-20A. The IP-ASI card enables up to 4 programmable ASI signals to be trans-
mitted though the Nulinx-IP. Each of the four ASI connections are independently programma-
ble as input or output. The ASI output port is configurable to pass ASI exactly as sent or setup to rate converted to a specific
output rate. The ASI fixed rate mode is extremely useful when driving downstream devices. If the incoming ASI signal is in-
consistent or intermittent, the Nulinx radio will shelter downstream devices from the intermittent sources. This leads to im-
proved overall system recover time and consistent reliability.
RF Units
The Nulinx-IP RF units are available in several configurations. In-
cluding an all-indoor version or an outdoor-version.
The Nulinx IP RFU-A is a traditional all-indoor radio shelf for use in
the 6-11 GHz Bands. Power outputs to 35 dBm at QPSK as
measured at the branching output flange. The RFU-A supports
up to two full duplex RF modules including the RF branching net-
work. This feature enables a 1RU RF configuration that flexible
supports Hot Standby, XPIC and multicarrier systems available
from a compact 1RU rack.
The Nulinx IP RFU-HP is a high power outdoor version of the
RFU-A. The RFU-HP supports all the features of the RFU-A in a unique flexible weatherized package. The RFU
-HP sports a unique quick mounting feature enabling tower climbers or installers to quickly add and remove addition channel
support easily. Multi-unit rack mounting kit available or use tower mounted at the antenna. Modem and RF unit may be sepa-
rated by up to 1000’ using RG-8 type coax.
The Nulinx IP RFU-C is an outdoor unit for use in all Part 74 and Part 101 bands (6GHz-42GHz). Power output of up to +26
dBm at QPSK as measured at the branching network output flange. The RFU-C supports up to two full duplex RF modules
including the RF branching network. This feature enables a single tower mounted radio configuration that flexible supports
Hot Standby, XPIC and multicarrier systems available from a compact single weather proof enclosure. The RFU-C may be
