the 1st Floor, MUIC Building 1. Applicants whose overall scores make them eligible to be interviewed for PC will be assigned into groups numbered 1 through 20 or last person in the list

Current PC students who took the MUIC Entrance Examination will not be called for either a College interview or a PC interview unless

their Entrance Examination scores show that they could be placed at the College level or a higher PC level than their current level.

Even current PC students who are accepted to MUIC are required to complete the PC final exams. Otherwise their Mathematics score will not be

transferred to MUIC.

Preparation Center for Languages and Mathematics (PC), formerly known as the Pre-College Program, has been providing a foundation for those students who need to improve their English skills to the level required for study in an English-medium degree program. Each intensive ten-week level is designed to help students practice all the appropriate English skills required to do well at MUIC or any other international institution. The aim of PC is to prepare students for entrance to Mahidol University International College (MUIC) or English-medium degree programs in other international universities, both in Thailand and abroad.

การเลอนระดบชน Passing Criteria นก เรยนตองสอบผานทกวตถประสงคการเร ยน ( Course objective) ทระบไวในค าอธบายรายวชาของแตละระดบชน (Course Syllabus) หากนกเรยนสอบไมผานมโอกาสซ าชน (Repeat) เพยงครงเดยว นกเรยน PC 1 และ PC 2 ทมผลการเรยนโดดเดนจะไดรบการพจารณาเลอนชนเรยนแบบขามชน

Students must pass all objectives of each subject as detailed in the Course Syllabus. Students are allowed to repeat each level only once. PC 1 and PC 2 students that achieve very good grades may be given the option of skipping a level.

1. การสมครเขาเรยนสาขาวชา BBA ผสมคร ทเลอกสาขาวชา BBA และเลอกสาขาอนเปนสาขาวชาล าดบท 2 ไว หากสอบผาน PC4 แลว แตผลคะแนนของนกเรยนไมถงเกณฑการคดเลอกเพอเขาเรยน BBA วทยาลยฯ จะพจารณาเลอกสาขาวชาล าดบท 2 ใหแกนกเรยนโดยอตโนมต

2. นกเรยนทสอบคดเลอกผาน PC แลว แตยงไมพรอมทจะเรยนในภาคการศกษาน ควรท าอยางไร (กรณทก าลงศกษาอยชนม. 6

ภาคเรยนท 1 และจ าเปนตองศกษาตอใหจบ หรอดวยเหตผลใดๆ ทไมสามารถเรยนในรอบนได) นกเรยนสามารถรกษาสถานภาพไวได 1 ป โดยเลอกลงทะเบยนประเภท “Postpone Registration” ในระบบ ตามวนและเวลาท PC ก าหนด และตองช าระเงนคารกษาสถานภาพจ านวน 5,000 บาท เมอนกเรยนกลบมาลงทะเบยน นกเรยนจะไดรบเงน 5,000 บาทคน (ทงนรวมถงกรณทนกเรยนสอบคดเลอกครงใหมแลวผานเขาเรยนทวทยาลยนานาชาต MUIC จะไดรบเงนคนดวย) ทงนนกเรยนทลงทะเบยนเรยนท PC หรอรกษาสถานภาพไว สามารถสมครสอบคดเลอกในรอบตอๆ ไปได เพอเลอกลงทะเบยนตามผลสอบทดทสด

3. หากนกเรยนสอบตดท PC หรอ รกษาสถานภาพไว นกเรยนสามารถสมครสอบคดเลอกเขามหาวทยาลยในระบบ Admissions กลางไดหรอไม

นกเรยนสามารถสมครสอบเขามหาวทยาลยในระบบ Admission กลาง หรอสมครสอบเขาสถาบนการศกษาอนๆ ได เพราะ PC ไมไดสงรายชอนกเรยนทสอบตดไปทระบบ Admissions กลาง

4. การจดหองเรยนและระยะเวลาเรยน จดตามระดบชนเรยน (PC Level) หรอตามระดบความรพนฐานภาษาองกฤษและคณตศาสตร แตไมแยกสาขาวชา โดยแตละหองเรยนจะมนกเรยนไมเกน 25 คน และมการเรยนการสอนวนจนทร – ศกร 8:00 – 15:00 น.

5. การเทยบวฒ o นกเรยนทจบจากตางประเทศและนกเรยนทไปแลกเปลยนในชวง ม.6 ตองไปเทยบวฒทกระทรวงศกษาธการ สามารถสอบถาม

6. ท าไมนกเรยนตองมาสอบสมภาษณท PC ในเมอนกเรยนไดสงผลสอบภาษาองกฤษระดบสากล เชน IELTS หรอ TOEFL ในการสมครสอบ

เนองจากผลการสอบภาษาองกฤษระดบสากลของนกเรยน (IELTS, TOEFL) และผลคะแนนการสอบเขาวทยาลยนานาชาตโดยเฉพาะในสวนทกษะดานการเขยน (Writing Skill) ของนกเรยนยงไมถงระดบคะแนนทวทยาลยนานาชาตก าหนด ท าใหนกเรยนตองสอบสมภาษณเพอเขาเรยน PC การเรยนท PC จะชวยเตรยมความพรอมใหนกเรยนดานการเขยนมากขน ในการเรยนการสอนรายวชา Writing Enrichment, Referenced Essay, Term Papers

MUIC Admissions Policy

BBA applicants: Please be reminded that applicants majoring in BBA, excluding International Hospitality Management, are required to choose another major from another degree program. If you are not admitted to your first-choice major, you will be automatically considered for your second-choice major. In addition, Current PC students who are majoring in BBA must meet the new BBA requirements, which include a limit on the number of students allowed to study in the BBA major. Any student who does not meet all of these requirements or exceeds the quota is required to study in his or her second-choice major that was chosen at the beginning of the MUIC admission process.

Q: What are the benefits of studying at PC? A: Studying at PC offers several benefits. Firstly, PC courses improve students’ language skills so they can

continue their studies at MUIC. Additionally, PC students learn study skills, logic, ethics, and independent learning strategies. Students at PC also have the opportunity to take math courses.

Q: I have been studying in an international program in high school. Why do I have to study at PC? A: PC Students come from diverse academic backgrounds. MUIC has high language proficiency standards.

Regardless of type of school that a student attended, he or she may require additional languages study to prepare to enter MUIC.

Q: If I think my level is too low, what can I do, and if I start at PC 1, do I have to go through all of the levels (1-4) before I can enter the college?

A: Students are placed in the PC level that we consider the best starting level for their skills. Students may have stronger skills in some areas, but weaker skills in others. Placement is determined to allow students to build strong foundations that will allow them to succeed and continue their studies successfully. All students are eligible to apply to take the MUIC entrance exam each quarter to attempt to enter the college via this route.

Q: I submitted TOEFL or IELTS with overall score of 6.0 Why do I have to study at PC? A: Because your writing and communication skills have not meet MUIC requirement, you are required to study

at PC.

Q: Why does PC have strict attendance policies? A: Because PC is a fast-paced, intensive English program, students are required to attend at least 80% of their

classes. Students who do not attend all or most of their classes will miss too much material and will not be prepared for their exams or other major assessments.

Q: If I need extra help, where can I go? A: All instructors are available for extra help on Friday afternoons (or other pre-arranged days). The extra tutoring

is free of charge but must be arranged weekly with the instructor by interested students.

Q: What happens if I fail my level? A: Students are allowed to study one PC level a maximum of two consecutive quarters. Students are then

asked to leave the program for at least one quarter and may repeat the level at a later date.

Q: Do I have to wear a uniform? A: All PC students must wear the designated uniform. If students do not wear the proper uniform, they will not

be allowed in classes or exams. This includes wearing a name tag.

Q: If I pass the MUIC entrance exam while I am studying at PC, can I drop out of PC before the end of the quarter?

A: No, you may not drop out. All PC students who are accepted by MUIC are expected to complete their current PC level. Students who have already taken a mathematics class in PC will have their results transferred to MUIC when they are accepted and registered there.
