Succession planning resulted in 32 promotions from with the team that I supported from April 2013 alone 12 of which achieved Manager Status and a Bakery Manager to a Regional Business Manager. Power Store Manager - Exxon Mobile 2006 - 2007

Responsible for the successful conversion of Exxon Mobile stores across the UK and Ireland. Converting 260 plus sites across the UK from franchises back to the ownership of Exxon Mobil. Installing new technology and training all staff and managers to Exxon Mobil’s high standards as well as being responsible for my team .Assessing training needs of the people and ensuring completion of conversions in extremely tight time frames working to retail excellent standards by a comprehensive review and signoff after each conversion by the Territory Manager and Regional Manager assessing all training signoffs and stringent store standards via Rexi.I was responsible for placing and receiving of all equipment/goods, safe storage of high valuables, full re-merchandising and pricing. In addition to being highly focused I covered step change sites which had a hot food offering and full coffee offering as well as additional services compared with standard snack and shops. I also was accountable in destruction and re-build including Bakery within an “On The Run” operation A high priority and focus on labour scheduling at each conversion and forward planning liaison with contractors and head office to draw to a conclusion in a rapid time a successful site opening with a stringent review and scoring process. Responsible for the safety of contractors and all aspects of risk assessments and health and safety across busy forecourts which included fire training with Chubb and equipment maintenance.

Key Achievements

Completing a regional roll covering 90 Bakeries across the west coast of Britain. After completing 40+ refits and re-launches in the last 12 months and delivering all financial goals and training , cascading new product development and training to my teams.

Re-trained all the Bakery Departments in Northern Ireland and Isle of Man to Company standards increasing profitability, simultaneously completing the roll out of XXXXX in the UK covering 20 stores and training a new Bakery trainer for Northern Ireland.

I lead the setting up the Safeway fresh food academy at Burton upon Trent with the guidance and support of the Managing Director

I help set up and plan all the Bakery side of the academy, liaising with suppliers regarding equipment and traders about new technology, forthcoming rollouts and the direction the Bakeries were taking.

I also designed several rollout packs with the help of the legal team to underpin the companies due-diligence in Bakeries, whether from scratch or from pre-baked products.

Assessed training needs and scheduled relevant courses, mapped learning requirements to the business goals and priorities

Delivered a structured well planned approach to deliver the training requirements of retail, trading and suppliers, including all relevant legal aspects of the business.

During Takeover I was seconded as Deputy Store Manager in 2 large stores, covering for the store Manager in his absence and completing the day to day responsibilities of Managing a £30 million plus store.

Completed 12 months with 60 “core” stores as a Fresh Foods Specialist to teach standards and profitability reporting directly to the Regional Managing Director.

Responsible for all the succession planning over this area of the business as well as the normal business targets and corporate goals.

Completed 18 months on a major company project in London and the South East of England refitting stores to a new format and then rolled out the project in the Midlands.

Was promoted onto the regional training team for Bakery covering all the UK. Opened several new and refitted stores over the last 5 years delivering sales

targets , training and profitability also completing layout drawings for departments and liaising with contractors and setting deadlines.
