PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
PARENT REQUESTS 2019
I have begun to receive emails and verbal queries from
parents in regard to class placements for 2019. The School
Improvement Team meets weekly to discuss curriculum
design and future planning goals for the school. Currently,
it is far too early to be discussing options for 2019.
If you have a special consideration, I would encourage that
you speak with your child’s teacher. I trust that your child’s
teacher will ensure that your child is placed in the most
appropriate learning environment.
BOOK WEEK ~ CURIOSITY AND POWERFUL LEARNING
Congratulations to Mrs Morris and her team for planning our
Book week activities and ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’. Whole
school events such as these, are exciting to participate in and
make a link with the focus for our children to be challenging
thinkers!
UPDATED POLICIES
Please refer to our school webpage, http://www.patterson-
lakes-ps.vic.edu.au/ and click on the Administration tab to
review the school policies. The School Council Policy
Committee meet each month to develop and update policies.
WALK TO SCHOOL
After a very successful wheel and walk program last term, our
school will be participating in the Walk to School launch in
October. I would like to thank the families and staff who
participated in the forums run by the Kingston Council as we
are now ready to receive our Walk and Wheel to school route
map. Four different routes have been identified as the main
options children take as their route to school. Stay tuned for
further information about our Walk to School event to be held
on October 16th!!
POLICE BLITZ
Please be aware that the area surrounding our school will be a
focus for the police over the next few months, ensuring that
drivers are abiding to the speed zones. We have had a very
positive response from the Kingston Council into possible
upgrades to parking on McLeod Road.

NETBALL GAME
Another classic game of netball was played last week with
teachers VS students. Once again the teachers were a strong
force winning 6 - 2. Thanks to all teachers and students who
were involved.
A massive thank you to all parents who contributed to the Coles For Sports vouchers at the beginning of the year. Our
school collected over $74,000 vouchers in total, the most vouchers from any school in our area. We are so lucky to receive so much sports equipment that will be used for years
to come.
A big thank you to Mrs Shaw who collected and counted the vouchers.
