EWB promotes human development through access to technology by:

• Partnering with developing communities to help build the capacity of their technical sector

Overseas• Why?

– Technology when properly incorporated into the social, cultural, political and economic context can drive change.

– It is part of the solution

• Approach– We work alongside other organizations overseas– We work in access to technology not technology delivery

• Opportunities:– Junior Fellowship in Int’l Development

• 2 from U of A chapter/year (applications open in October)• 4 months overseas, 18 month commitment

– Long Term Placement• For university graduates• 1 – 3 year placements

EWB promotes human development through access to technology by:

• Raising awareness among Canadians about how they can make decisions that positively impact communities overseas

•Encouraging the Canadian government to become a model global citizen by taking on a leadership role in poverty alleviation

•Encouraging Canadian corporations to adopt fair and humane practices.
