What do we do?

FinTech Australia Ltd. is the peak body for the Australian financial services, technology and innovation - Fintech industry. We were founded by startups, and are a startup ourselves. We work with founders, startups, scaleups and the Fintech ecosystem. We represent our members and advocate for outcomes that facilitate the growth of the Fintech ecosystem with the goal of making Australia a leading Fintech market.

Our Vision is to make Australia one of the world’s leading markets for Fintech innovation, adoption and investment. And our mission is to grow the Australian Fintech ecosystem, to encourage disruption and drive investment and to be a trusted advisor. Our success is reflected by the growth and success of our members. We win when they win.

The Australian Fintech Ecosystem From a small cluster of founders to an ecosystem that spans right across Australia the Australian Fintech ecosystem has experienced tremendous growth. With change, innovation and the need to deliver better products and outcomes as part of its DNA, the fintechs in australia are challenging the status quo, driving investment and productivity and leading the world.

Australia has one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic Fintech industries. In fact, the Australian Fintech industry is estimated to grow from a $250 million industry in 2015 to a $4 billion industry by 2020.

CHALLENGEChallenging existing structures and driving policy reform is a key priority for the Association.

ADVOCATEFinTech Australia advocate on behalf of our members, both locally and globally, to attract the support they need to win.

CONNECTA core part of our action plan is bringing all parts of the financial technology eco-system together.

This year’s Intersekt will be better than ever, kicking off Day one on Monday 29th October with the Launch of the Ernst and Young Fintech Census, followed by a Keynote Speech and the Official Opening of the conference by Victorian Minister for Trade & Investment, Innovation & the Digital Economy, Small Business. Phil Dalidakis and a welcome cocktail event.

Days two and three will feature keynote speakers and plenary sessions devoted to unlocking what is unique about Australian Fintechs exploring how this can help to propel onto the world stage, and including an investor matching session program for Start-ups curated by Ernst and Young and the opportunity for Fintechs to match with students who want to work or intern in their business. FinTech Australia will also launch its consumer facing Open Banking campaign and showcase Australia’s leadership in this space.

This year’s edition – the 40th – will take place in Sydney from October 22nd to 25th.

The Finnie Awards 2018

The Annual Fintech Industry awards, held at the end of the financial year.
