Highway each year). The color screen, which faces southbound traffic, can run either animated or video com-

mercials, text messages or static images. Messages run in 15 second to 1 minute increments over a 10-12

To encourage New Yorkers to be more active, Chelsea Piers, in partnership with

UnitedHealthcare developed a series of Wellness Weeks that were held in January, April and

September. Group classes, including Breakaway Cycle, New You Yoga, adult gymnastics

and ice skating, were offered for $5 only per class.

To kick off the week, Chelsea Piers Fitness hosted “Cycle for Cystic Fibrosis” with former

NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason. Proceeds from the event went to support cystic fibrosis

research. Wellness Week was promoted through Chelsea Piers email newsletters, online
