Through participating in this workshop, it is anticipated that you will develop:

Road Risks - Your Choice STAGE 4
Contains teacher guide, interactive CD ROM, video and DVD.
Addresses passenger, pedestrian, safety on wheels and future
driver behaviours.
Shifting Gears – STAGE 5
Contains multiple copies of SHIFT 2nd Gear CD ROM and a teacher
resource manual.
Teaching and learning activities provided in the manual are
activities which allow students to take on different roles to explore
issues relating to young people’ that place them at greater risk of
crashes, fatalities and injuries. These activities can be used in as
stand-alone classroom activities.
The CD ROM cannot be used due to technology difficulties.
Limiting risks, protecting lives – Choices for novice drivers and their passengers – STAGE 5/ CROSSROADS
Contains teacher booklet and DVD
Aims to challenge student attitudes and values and to encourage
them to question their behaviour.
Covers issues – young driver, risk taking, speed, drink driving, no
use of seatbelts and fatigue.

Consists of a variety of teaching/learning activities developed
around texts from the RTA to address the learning outcomes for

The George Institute has developed this online tool to help
policymakers and other stakeholders, ie media, youth

NRMA Young Drivers website aimed at young drivers is
presented by NRMA. It has great information for drivers,
competitions, and a road planner. Young drivers can also
join to get free road side assistance for 12 months.
