James F. ‘Jim’ Whiting MIEAust CPEng NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus)

As an internationally-renowned risk engineer and HSE expert, ‘Jim’ Whiting is Principal Consultant and MD of risk@workplaces who specialise in providing expert advice and training in causal and risk analysis systems. Serving as National CEO of NSCA for 15 years, Jim has 40-plus years’ experience in applications of engineering and science to risk management, health safety and environment, incident/accident investigation and root cause analysis in energy, transport, petrochemical, mining, construction, health and manufacturing industries. He has advised medium to large organisations and trained workers and managers in Australia and New Zealand, USA, Canada, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, and India.

He is past National Chairman & Honorary Life member of the Risk Engineering Society of Australia, and has represented Engineers Australia on Standards Australia’s various RM sub-committees which developed AS / NZS

4801:2000 OHS Management Systems and the last edition of the Risk Management standard AS/NZS 4360: 2004 Risk Management.
