I have heard many people say as a way to solve the problems of the world, all that would be needed would be to give the people ayahuasca but this is a failure to understand the nature of the medicine,for if this where true then there would be no such thing as a brujo, what is needed to solve these problems that we all face and have created are good teachers who inspire the people to live in a harmonious manner with the planet, with all life living upon it and of course with each other, even though natem has inspired many to live in this way, one dose not need natem to receive and understand the teachings of the truth and and be inspired to follow them , when ayahuasca or natem is used by the shamans of the shuar, its used as medicine to aid with healing that they provided, though its often the case that its not the medicine proscribed by the shaman in order to achieve this healing and so there for many patients who come to the curandero for healing never drink natem, where as the shaman always drinks it when providing healing because it is the tool the shaman uses to to call upon the energy’s needed for whatever healing is required. In Peru one may find that ayahuasca is used as a as a tool for creating sacred ceremony which can facilitate healing but this type of ceremony is the type that through the space that’s created one can contact the divine, sacred conscious energy’s that exist in ones self and it is often the desire for this type of experience that draws people from the west to experience the medicine, lead by a desire that has grown from what can be called an exit from Eden, which has the results of a disconnection from these divine aspect within the self that are also found with out (the fractal nature of the universe) that without feeling or experiencing can leave one with a unfulfilled emptiness that can be seen as caused by the self in response to a sickness within core foundations of western lifestyle and the view that lifestyle creates of one place existing as part of the conscious universe , that consciously or subconsciously one wishes to end or disconnect from and reconnect with a lifestyle that is both natural and harmonious and that stands upon spiritual foundations that are a true reflection of this, though some who are drawn to the medicine are lead by self importance and are seeking spiritual power that they have heard is gifted to the shamans by the medicine, such is the desire of the brujo who seeks to serve himself and gains a sense of self importance by doing so. Each ceremony begins with taking sanco , tobacco, this is natural chemical free tobacco, a small amount is put into a cup or small bowl and soaked in water for 10 to 15 minutes then a small amount of the liquid is pored in the hand and this is then sniffed up the nose it is a powerful medicine which clears the mind and helps to open the cells some times datura or mikura is taken in combination with ayahuasca, datura is a extremely dangerous and powerful medicine and one must prepare in order to be ready to partake in this medicine . Its possible one many find in only a small area 4 datura plants that may look similar yet each may be different, because there is datura that only women can use, also there is datura that’s used only for animals and there is datura for shamans and also there are many that can not be used at all and so therefor one should not attempt to take this medicine without the strictest shamanic supervision,

because it is such a powerful medicine one must prepare slowly, and so for 4 nights consecutively before one drinks natem for that nights ceremony, one crushes fresh leaves from the plant and rubs them over the body, this alone makes the experience of natem much stronger, also during this time one must follow a strict diet and they cannot participate in sex or enter under the sun, after 4 nights following this process on the fifth night one is then ready to drink mikura with natem, the part of the mikura plant that is used is the white layer under the outer surface of the bark which is boiled in water and this is added to the natem which is then drunk, for the next 7 days after the ceremony one must

ahear to the same restrictions no sun and sex and must continue keeping the requirements given for diet, this process is not for every one but it can provide for strong visions, what is meant when the term visions is used is not the patterns what ones sees behind closed eyes nor the swirling patterns and colors that the surrounding environment becomes as it constantly moves as one perceives the true energetic nature of all things, the term visions refer to experiences like when bees come flying out the leaf rattle called shin shin or when one see giant mosquitoes colored with the colors of abalone shell or when a jaguar walks out the darkness and enters the body or when the inner eyes attains 360 view of 3 dimensional landscapes of other worlds and giant beings vibrating with spiritual energy appear and perform surgery on one consciousness or when little spirit moths appear and you feel there soft wings tickle your skin as they fly over ones body giving blessings and as you try to catch them you realize you cant because their spirits or when angles appear and tears of happiness flow down ones cheeks or when one meets the spirit of ayahuasca with her big round black insect eyes her beautiful feminine form and her fairy like wings made of fluorescent pink purple blue and yellow light for such visions a gifts that are not easily given by the medicine also what can be also gifted by the medicine is vast amount of information that just seems to flow into ones being, within a couple of hours one may receive and understand completely all volumes of encyclopedia universal metaphorically speaking that on reflection the next morning seems hard to conceive yet all the information and understanding is retained in one being

if one wishes to take mikura with out natem then a stricter process must be followed where one doesn’t eat or drink anything for 3 days, after the third day one goes to a specially prepared spot in the jungle to be alone and drink mikura, the first night that the mikura is taken one will sleep and not remember much of what happens, then on the second night one drinks the datura again and its on this night that powerful visions are received, the next day one cannot eat or drink. so in total one must go 6 days without food or water, also after the ceremony is completed for the next 7 days one must keep the diet and the same restriction of no sex and not entering under the sun
