The Floods of 1955 devastated many areas in the state including the Park River Watershed.Many engineering studies were conducted after the floods. Federal, State and Localagencies financed the studies as well as constructing the flood control structures identied inthese studies. This map depicts most of the flood structures constructed resulting from thestudies on the map as well as the earlier flood control structures in Hartford that wereconstructed following flooding in 1936 and 1938.
