ACT TEST PREPARATIONACT TEST PREPARATIONThe ACT is the most widely recognized college entrance exam, even surpassing the SAT. It is acceptable at all colleges and universities. Many schools offer academic scholarships based on ACT scores. A few points can make the difference of entrance into your top-choice school and thousands of dollars in scholarship money. The good news is you can prepare for this standardized test. Whether you are taking the test for the first time or the last you can increase the likelihood of getting a higher score if you take the ACT Preparation Course offered by Park Hill Community Education. The 12-hour course will provide test-taking techniques and specific information on how to do well on each of the four sub-tests. Test preparation and practice can help you get the score you want. An optional Saturday class is offered to take a practice test before the actual test for the practice of new techniques and to hone skills. Please note this course does NOT register you for the ACT test. Students register for the test at www.ACT.org/student. All students must purchase The Real ACT Prep Guide published by Peterson’s with 5 real ACT tests. You may purchase the book before class starts or you may purchase from the instructor for $20.Instructed by Cathie Morrison, Nearpoint LLC at the Faubion Methodist Church, Gladstone

DEAR PARK HILL COMMUNITY,

It’s a new year in the Park Hill School District. Children across the community are heading back to school, excited to see new teachers, meet new friends and learn thousands of new things.

But as always, Park Hill has learning opportunities for everyone, from birth through adulthood.

This catalog from our Community Education program offers pages and pages of courses for you to get that same exciting back-to-school feeling. Try learning computer skills, practicing a new exercise program or making a new craft project like flower arranging. I hope you will get as caught up in the excitement of this new school year as we are and find yourself learning something new.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeanette CowherdInterim Superintendent
