President & Director's Message (April, May, June- 2016)
Sanjay Kumar Gupta
All the Best
The New Financial year has started and we have just completed our first quarter.
The onset of the monsoon does not look promising; however, let us hope that the
situation changes in the coming days.
The uncertainty in monsoon is here to stay and we should work hard to ensure that
the vagaries of weather do not have significant affect on the business.
However, the season is not yet over and we have the second quarter ahead of us
which should be promising. I hope and pray that the monsoon will be beautiful and
all our plans will materialize.
From Editor's Desk
April, May and June are the season with highest involvement and activity engagements.
Keeping this in mind we focus majorly on Preseason preparation.
We hope this edition too strengthen the purpose of communication and synergy across the
departments. With arrival of much awaited rains farmers are all out to purchase quality hybrid
seeds and we should not leave any stone unturned in order to provide them with JK brand of
hybrids
Overwhelmed with your support & contributions for preparation of this letter & we anticipate the
same in future times to come.

Before distribution starts training program were conducted by our field staff for farmers at each

Cotton Season is expected to see strong headwinds in Gujarat owing to heavy incidence of
Pink Boll Worm (PBW) in Saurashtra last season. This year farmers are expected to shift from
traditionally long duration cotton hybrids to Short duration hybrids as they can evade PBW and
go for second crop also.
Last season we had launched our Short Duration, Closer Spacing hybrid JK PaasPaas
which is most suited for current conditions. We had organized major distributors meeting in
Ahmedabad on 26th April in Hotel Fortune which was attended by 55 members. It started
with a welcome note followed by Company introduction and Introduction of Hybrid portfolio
of field crops and Cotton and mostly focused on JK PaasPaas.
The meeting was very well organized and well taken and appreciated by all the participants.
Gujarat Distributors Meeting:
Telangana & Andhra Pradesh are major markets for Cotton as well as Field Crop with huge
market potential. We had organized the meeting for elite distributors from both the states
and organized Distributors meeting in Leonia Resorts on 4th may as a part of Pre Season
activity which was attended by all concerned dignitaries and appreciated by One and all

Preseason Farmer Engagement:
Preseason activities are an important way of engaging farmers before the onset of season. We
planned for focused pre-season activities to give recall to the farmer on products and their
segments. Preseason activities were specifically planned in the villages where the Product
differentiation activities were conducted. Targeting the same customers gives recall and has
better conversion ratio. Along with engaging farmers, activities were also planned in a way to
create clear segmentation of the products to ensure that the products are targeted in the right
segment.
Few glimpses of activities done by Bihar team.
Night projector meeting were conducted where the product videos were played along with
the details and explanation from team. Projector meetings created good attraction among
the farmers. Also preseason is the time when the farmer is busy in harvesting and selling
the earlier crop or preparing the field for the upcoming crop season. In such a scenario,
projector meetings which were done during evening or night hours proved to a better time
slot since maximum farmers are back to the village/location. Moreover, projector meetings
enabled in standardizing the content and communication to the farmers. Preseason
activities were done with full enthusiasm by the team to ensure coverage and content.
Last year's TV ad of JKRH 401 Suraksha gave positive results and was appreciated by all
the stakeholders. The ad was repeated this year on AajTak and ETV in Bihar, MP,
Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. Customers were targeted through both
ATL and BTL activities to ensure maximum and effective coverage.

Pre- season Meetings on Maize:
Pre-season meetings will create an excellent impact in recalling particular hybrids in farmers.
By keeping this in mind we selected village where product demonstration activities were
conducted. This year JKAL introduced new concept (through projector) in conducting meetings
in pre-season for better understanding to farmers with live Pictures/Images.
In these meetings we incorporated/included crop live pictures and how they perform at different
stages of crop life cycle, along with the farmer testimonials of that particular region. We found
that the meetings were very successful, and farmer's response was overwhelming. In these
meetings JKAL prepared product standees for better understanding/presentation of hybrids
and showcases in-front of dealer shops to create a better exposure/branding, and conducted
van campaign in the selected villages. Our team worked well in all these possible ways to re-call
hybrid performance in farmer's mind. Here can find some glimpses of that pre- season
meetings.
Distributor meetings:As we all know trade channel partners are the intermediaries through whom we distribute our
product so that it will reach to farmers on time. In view to motivate our trade channel
members/partners and to build strong relation & trust. JKAL conducted distributor meetings in
A.P, TS, Rajasthan and Gujarat. OurPresident &Director Mr. SK Gupta, NSM-Mr Tapas Konar
and respected state &territory in charges gave very good motivation to our trade partners and
briefed/informed them about the new technologies of JKAL.
The distributors were very happy about the meeting and expresses their gratitude towards

Launch Meeting was held for our Tomato Hybrid JK Ratan in Madhya Pradesh. The meeting was hosted by our Team Madhya Pradesh, with Gyan Singh Gurjar taking a lead in the activity. The Agenda was to create awareness and build confidence about our product. And we were able to do that by help of our Dealers who in the last year have seen JK Ratan in the fields. They act as our Brand ambassadors.
The meeting was a successful event, and hoping this will benefit our sales.
