sacraments of First Reconciliation & Eucharist involves par-
ticipating in our parish's first and second grade religious ed-
ucation classes. Both sacraments are celebrated during the
second grade year.
Confirmation (Grades 9-10) ~ This two-year preparation
process is designed to help candidates learn more about
their faith, our Catholic Church and what it means to be a
disciple of Jesus Christ. The process is intended to help the
candidate become more receptive to the Holy Spirit and
actively live out the mission of the Church in their lives.

Congratulation to Deacon Gerry Scilla as he cele-brates his 15
th anniversary of Ordination to the
Diaconate. Come join us this weekend for our parish fellowship time, “Osteria di Sarto”, after the 9:30 am Mass as we recognize Gerry for his good service to our church. I am pleased to announce that we have found a new Religious Education Coordinator for St. Pius X Par-ish. Emma Goff will be in charge of the elementary level Religious Education program including the “Children’s Litur-gy of the Word” program that takes place during the 9:30 am Sunday Mass. She will work under the direction of John McMahon, our experienced Faith Formation Director at Holy Family-St. Lawrence. John will head the Confirmation pro-gram and youth group for both parishes, and will be Emma’s immediate supervisor. Together they will work on various programs offered to the whole Essex Catholic Community, including our Vacation Bible School. Emma is a recent graduate of St. Michael’s College with a major in Religious Studies and a minor in Educa-tion. She did an internship with John McMahon here as a college student and for the last two years has ministered at St. Ambrose Parish in Bristol and St. Peter Parish in Ver-gennes. Emma will be employed for 25 hours a week and will also be involved with the Pastoral Council, other activi-ties at St. Pius X including our Sunday fellowship time. Em-ma recently was married and lives with her husband in Es-sex. Welcome Emma as she begins her ministry with us on July 1st. Thank you to our many parishioners who are work-ing on the grounds at our three church sites. There is plenty to do and we can always use more help. Please contact me if you would like to do some lawn work or manual work and I will point you in the right direction. Stewardship is a disci-ples’ response and all of us are given time, talent, and treasure to share with our church. God is good and will bless the gracious giver.
God Bless,

JESUS WAITS FOR US IN THIS SACRAMENT OF LOVE
By worshiping the Eucharistic Jesus, we become what
God wants us to be. Eucharistic Adoration is God and
man reaching out for each other, at the same time.
Come to Holy Family Church on Tuesday evenings
between 6:30-7:30pm, even if you only have a few
minutes. The Eucharist is Jesus truly present - Body, Blood,
Soul, and Divinity. He desires us to spend time with
Him. You will be blessed, and you will bless our Eucharistic
Lord.

bol. If you are currently using our ACH giving through Key Bank, please remember to switch to OSV Online Giv-ing the switch is easy. ~ Please email [email protected] or call Margaret at 878-5997 if you are making the switch, so that we can remove you from the Key Bank system. Thank you.
CENACLES OF LIFE PRAYER GROUP
Please join us for prayer for life after daily Mass each
Wednesday. All are invited to pray to end this culture
of death. Let us pray to stop all the killing of the un-
born, sick and handicapped. This will happen through
the rosary and fasting! Our Lady of Fatima said that
all evils and wars are ended through her rosary and sacrific-
es. The rosary is a gift that was designed by God to give to
His children - so His Mother could intercede and crush the
serpent.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL July 16th - 20th from 9am to 12pm
“How to Cope When the World Gets Too Crazy ~ Applying the Rule of St. Benedict to Our Lives”
This annual program is truly unmatched in its attempt to blend fun and faith enrichment for our youngest disci-ples. Once again, we will make an imaginary trip back in time to learn about another formative period of our Christian Faith. This time, we will learn about some of the famous Saints who lived during the troubled period of 350-550 AD when the Roman Empire collapsed & the Catholic Church struggled to keep the Western world from falling apart. Each day will be a mixture of unrestrained fun (like shooting catapults, water balloons, and meeting At-tila the Hun!) and real substance (the week will focus on learning about and applying the Rule of St. Benedict to our spiritual lives while dealing with the chaos of the real world). The program is ideal for children, ages 5 and above (5th grade seems to be the typical limit). Younger children are welcome to attend, but need to have a su-pervising adult or guardian present at all times. Go to our website www.hfslvt.org for information and registration forms or call John McMahon @ 878-
5331 ext. 202
