On behalf of our entire faith community, I

would like to express our sincere apprecia-tion to everyone who made this Christmas

Season truly a season of generosity through the gift of self-giving. Many of our parishion-

ers labored in love throughout the month to prepare us and our local communities for the

feast of the incarnation. We offer our grati-tude to the priests of the vicariate who pre-

pared us spiritually through the Sacrament of Reconciliation giving us the opportunity of

grace to turn from our sinfulness and once again know of God’s infinite love for us. We

thank those who organized the Newfane Food Pantry’s Christmas Gift and Food

Sharing Program, especially Kathy Phillips, Dotty Mitaliski, Fran Budnack, and Don Miller. We thank all their workers and every-

one who donated to this appeal to make this endeavor an act of loving-kindness. At this

time we also recognize those who staff and supply the Food Pantry throughout the year.

You have become the hands of Christ work-ing in our midst. To our Parish Life Outreach

Committee who once again organized our Angel Giving Tree. Over three hundred

residents of the Newfane health Facility and the Ransomville Heritage Manor, all our shut-

ins, those who have lost a love one this year and a few additional families were provided

with gifts and a personal visit from a committee member. We are most grateful

to them and all who contributed to our Angel Giving Tree Project. To Mary Palmer, our Faith Formation Director, for her assistance

in preparing our children and their families to celebrate this season rooted in the

sacredness of the birth of Christ. To the families who made the wreaths, for the

donation of the live Christmas tree and all those wonderful Poinsettias, we are most

grateful. These decorations allow our sanctuaries to reflect a glimpse of the original

beauty of that glorious event.

A special word of thanks to all those who were

part of the preparation for our wonderful Christmas liturgies. The individuals who organ-

ized the Children’s Liturgy and its pageant, our musicians, liturgical ministers, altar servers,

lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers, greeters and deacon. For the members of our Liturgy

Committee who worked for months so that we would be ready to celebrate this most blessed

event. To those who decorated our two worship sites so that our guests felt welcomed

and invited to enter more fully in this celebration of the incarnation.

I almost forgot to include our office staff of Eileen Szratter, Jinny Carnegie and also Bill

Antoncich, our custodian; for all that you do. Thank you.

As you can see, preparing for Christmas, as

everyone knows is no simple task, it takes time, energy and involvement of many to accomplish

this wonderful event. On behalf of our Pastoral Council, our staff and all of our parishioners, we express our sincere gratitude to everyone

who made this Advent and Christmas season a wonderful celebration of faith. Without you we

could never have been able to do what we have done. Thank you again from the bottom of my

heart. As you walked into our sites one could sense the transformation that had been

accomplished as we prepared for the Lord. May our worship, our songs, our prayers rise

up to God as we join together to celebrate this Christmas miracle of the birth of our Lord Jesus

Christ. A Blessed Christmas season to every-one who has made us what we are today, a

community of faith, a community of service, a community of love. To our faith community,

Thank you. May God continue to bless us through the New Year.

Merry Christmas, Fr. Rob
