frequently absent and/or

tardy are missing valuable

parts of their education.

These truancies are also

disruptive to entire

classrooms of students.

Part of the school’s

responsibility in educating

your child is instilling the

importance of learning.

Parents are encouraged

to set a good example by

ensuring prompt arrival

and limited absences, so

that optimal learning can

take place.

TRUANCY POLICY: A student who is 1) absent

without valid excuse four or

more days or parts of days

within a four-week period or

2) absent without valid ex-

cuse for ten or more days or

parts of days within a semes-

ter will be reported to the

student’s parents/guardians

and other agencies as re-

quired. The parents/legal

guardians of the student may

also incur legal liability re-

garding their failure to com-

pel the student to attend

school.
