We would like to let you know about the <insert school> e-learning website called edmodowhich our class will be using this year. The school edmodo allows our class to extend ourphysical classroom into an online learning space.
Students will be able to:
y post messages to the teacher and ask questions about work from home ,y
share ideas about class work from anywhere at any time ,y share files and resources with the teacher and other students in the class,y keep track of important due dates, events and tasks,y quickly and easily catch up on handouts or work missed due to absence ,y receive and hand-in assignment tasks electronically (as needed)
The school edmodo is a private, teacher-controlled online learning space. Students need anaccess code to join the class and can only communicate with either the whole class or the
teacher. Students are expected to follow the school online behaviour guidelines and to usethe school edmodo class group for class-related discussion. Communication is monitored by
the class teacher and the school edmodo administrator.
For students in Years 7 and 8, edmodo is used as an optional resource and is not requiredfor formal classroom activities and assessment. Any essential material placed on edmodowill also be made available to students in other formats. Students may also use the schoollibrary computers during recess or lunchtime, or at the free after-hours school homeworkcentre, also in the library, to access edmodo.
