Some Children Need Your Help…

• The issue? It is heart breaking to see children doing their best to learn in bad conditions. How can children learn with no pen to write with? Getting education in these conditions becomes very hard and efforts are wasted. Here, a little help can make a big difference.

• The situation? Children in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (and other countries) are proud to walk long distances (up to an hour) in the heat and dust to come to school and learn what their parents did not. 90 pupils sit in classes made for 45. For lack of better means, they write in the margins of the notebooks already used by their brothers and sisters before.

• The scope? Paper for All focuses on improving bad education and learning conditions to enable better education and country development. The charity focuses on five schools (3,000 children) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso to maximize its impact. Lately, also in other countries: Cameroon, Guinea Conakry, etc.

• The actions? Paper for All mainly distributes academic resources (notebooks, pens, chalk, etc.) to the children, quarterly. Paper for All also organizes summer programs for ~15 volunteers to teach in Ouagadougou. Finally, an umbrella program was created to communicate about similar actions in other countries.

• Why Burkina Faso? Burkina Faso has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world, only 23%. Only one person in five can read and write. Paper for All also had actions in other countries: Cameroon, Guinea Conakry.

• Why education? Education is often one of the first steps and enablers leading to awareness and development. By providing disadvantaged children with academic resources, Paper for all helps them learn and build their knowledge of the world. Ultimately this enables them to better contribute to the development of their country.

Support / Donate / UK / Payroll Giving

• ‘Payroll giving’ was put in place by the UK government to encourage charity donations. Employees are entitled to have an amount taken off their gross salary each month and given to registered charities.

• It is a convenient option as the monthly donation can be as low as 1£ before tax. In other words, when you give a charity 1£ before tax, you are in fact paying 70p whereas the charity still gets 1£, the difference being contributed by the government.

How Can I Volunteer in Burkina Faso?

• Volunteering in Burkina Faso can be an amazing experience. Returning volunteers often say that they were in the end the ones learning, as they got to know the African culture, and that the experience was incredibly rewarding. If you wish to gain field experience in Burkina Faso, you can contact us (admin@paper4all.org) to discuss your objectives and desired work experience : we can help you define and carry out the development project that interests you.

What if I Want to Make Physical Donations?

• We have in the past accepted physical donations, or donations of academic supplies. This was usually possible when the donating organization could also take care of the transport to Burkina Faso through either a container or a shipping company. Please contact us and we will get back to you to let you know how we can incorporate your support within our actions.

• Paper for All? Paper for All is a non-profit/charity registered in Burkina Faso, UK, France and the US that aims to promote better learning conditions to children in Burkina Faso through the provision of academic materials (notebooks, pens, etc.). The name reflects the fact that the charity focuses on education and simple things like providing notebooks to children.

• The vision? To grow seeds into trees sheltering the next generation.

• The mission? To support education to enable sustainable development.

• What we do? Together we help children get an education and grow the seeds into trees sheltering the next generation. Paper for All conducts several programmes: 1) We distribute academic resources every quarter 2) We organize summer volunteering programmes and treks. Check our ‘What we do‘ section. 3) We promote organizations in our Umbrella

• Who are we? This is a non profit made by volunteers. There is no employee and no salary. Administrative costs are low to enable maximum impact.
