PROBLEM STATEMENT Cooking on the fly is tough. Individuals who cook at home have the tough decision of “what to cook”. They find themselves scrambling to discover a new recipe with a quick prep time.
RESULT People tend to cook what they’re comfortable cooking and may not know what they can cook with ingredients on hand.
THE IDEA Creating a home recipe finder based on ingredients already on hand.

PROBLEM WITH FIRST DRAFTThe problem started with my user research. A question from the Persona Questionnaire - ‘What makes you choose a specific recipe for dinner?” That question sparked the “What Are You Cooking” CTA.
User research told me users typically plan several meals for the week. Eventually this question seemed self-explanatory because they know what they are planning on cooking. Selecting a meal type became redundant. What matters is the ingredients you have on hand and what recipes this tool can find based on that.
