Panihati, this year, may expect a better and improved civic services in respect of shelter, water, sanitation, infrastructure and livelihood and in other respects. In the leading and inspiring footsteps of our Honourable Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee, Panihati is also playing its part to fulfill her dreams of Reviving and Resurgent Bengal. Various State and Centrally sponsored schemes are also being implemented in our city and the related activities are progressing in full swing. Providing shelter to the shelter less and poor living in inhabitable condition with basic services like food, water, sanitation, sewerage and livelihood facilities towards the goal of reducing poverty and inequality, improved physical and social infrastructure and other civic amenities, better education facilities, strengthening the e-governance system towards transparency and decentralized democracy, fluent and dynamic ways of dissemination of information would also be our prioritized focus in the forthcoming days. Various reform measures in compliance with the National and State level policies and guidelines would be implemented gradually to achieve self-sufficiency, judicious use of our resources and reduction in energy consumption and pollution level. Panihati has a glorious tradition of rich heritage and culture which would be strengthened and nourished with time. In our future plan, potentialities for tourism attraction would also be explored and preliminary activities towards this goal have already been started. We look forward your support and cooperation in our journey towards development.

Panihati Municipality has submitted Detail Project Reports (DPR) for development of 5 parks under AMRUT during the financial year of 2015-16 to the State Mission Directorate, West Bengal, AMRUT for necessary approval. Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM): In compliance with the "The Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and Their Rehabilitation Act, 2013"issued by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, State Monitoring Committee (SMC), constituted Nodal Department of the State, Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal had decided in its first meeting that a Comprehensive House to House Survey for identification of Insanitary / latrines' for Urban areas had to be canvassed in all ULBs within the State for complete elimination of insanitary latrines and construction of Sanitary / Community Latrine, thereof. Accordingly, Comprehensive House to House Survey in each and every household of all the ULBs of the State had been conducted in the ULBs during January-February 2015 as per the directions State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), West Bengal. Findings of this survey in many ULBs generated figures in much deviation with Census 2011 data. To resolve this, during June-July 2015, SUDA has further directed to review the survey (Preparation of error-free comprehensive list of insanitary or no latrine facilities) data with the technical guidance from Municipal Engineering Directorate (MED), West Bengal. City Sanitation Plan for Panihati has been generated on the revised estimate and as per guidelines with the concerned department.
