This freelance re-branding and logo design project was completed for the client, Berea Health & Rehabilitation. The job was attained through The Gallaher Group, a design and marketing firm in Ashland, KY. Berea Health & Rehabilitation (formerly Berea Healthcare) requested re-branding and a new logo to accompany their recent name change. The project deliverables included four final logo options, a design brief (demonstrated to the left), and a list of used Pantone color codes. The client’s final logo choice is displayed below while the other options can be seen on the following page.

BEREAHEALTH & REHABILITATION

Client & Services

Berea Health & Rehabilitati on, formerly Berea Health Care Center, has requested the creati on of a fresh new logo to accompany their new brand name. The company is a medical facility that serves Central Kentucky by providing either residenti al placement or rehabilitati ve services to their pati ents. Berea Health & Rehabilitati on prides themselves on their family atmosphere and caring staff . Their facility off ers a relaxed environment, nutriti onal cuisine, dynamic theraputi c care, and everyday assistance.

Deadlines

Once completed, all deliverables must be submitt ed online via Dropbox to Lori Witt , Gallaher Group Graphic Designer, no later than Friday, November 21, 2014.

Deliverables

Project deliverables include 3 completed logo opti ons, each in Adobe Illustrator EPS fi le format. The PMS color codes will also be indicated in a separate document. The design brief will also be submitt ed with the other deliverables for review.

Target Market

Berea Health & Rehabilitati on is the healthcare provider for primarily elderly pati ents and individuals who require consistent medical care or supervision. For this reason, marketi ng eff orts must be directed towards similar individuals and their loved ones.

Key Objecti ves

The client’s request for a traditi onal color scheme is an objecti ve that must be achieved. The traditi onal color scheme refl ects the nature of the company and the target market’s probable preferences. Cool colors will have a more calming eff ect on pati ents than warm colors. Therefore, a cooler color palett e will be used.

The newly designed logo should be clear and easily visible. As poor eye sight may be common among the target market populati on, this objecti ve is imperati ve.

The fi nished design should look mature and established and should elicit an impression of professionalism and trustworthiness. Portraying these values when representi ng Berea Health & Rehabilitati on is paramount as it may increase the likelihood that pati ents will trust them enough to give them their business.

The overall objecti ve is to create an aestheti cally appealing logo that successfully communicates to the target marketand accurately represents Berea Health & Rehabilitati on.
