News Explosions at English Fuel Depot

There have been several explosions at a fuel depot.

Forty three people were injured.

There was a huge fire.

A lot of oil tanks were burning.

Firefighters tried to stop the fire.

They used foam to cover the fire.

There was a lot of thick smoke.

Two thousand nearby residents moved.

The smoke could blow as far as Europe.

George Best has died at 59 years old.

He was a very famous footballer.

He played for Northern Ireland and Manchester United.

He had to have several operations.

News Kenya's Camel Library

In Kenya camels are being used as mobile libraries.

This is part of the Camel Mobile Library Service.

The library lends books to nomad children.

Many of the children live in the desert.

Camels are used to cross the desert.

Many nomad children do not go to school.

The Camel library service helps children read and learn.

The library has more than 7 thousand books.

The books are supplied from the charity, Book Aid International.

The Conservatives have elected a new leader.

David Cameron won a big election victory.

He won 134 thousand votes.

He replaces current conservative leader Michael Howard.

David Cameron will choose a shadow cabinet.

He is 39 years old.

He has been an MP for four years.

A new animal has been seen in Indonesia.

The animal is a mammal.

It is bigger than a cat.

It has a long tail and red fur.

Researchers think it is carnivorous.

Policemen stopped a child's toy car.

The toddler was driving his toy car on the pavement.

The police warned the boy's Grandfather.

The child could be charged.

The toy car had no road tax.

It didn't have an M.O.T certificate either.

The Grandfather thought the policemen were joking.

The toy car's top speed is 2 miles an hour.

The toy cars can be bought in toy shops.

News Teddy bear Shaped Mobile

A new mobile phone has been designed.

It is called the 'Teddy Fone'.

It is shaped like a teddy bear.

The 'Teddy Fone' is designed for children four years old and older.

The phone only allows children to call four numbers.

It produces a lower amount of radiation.

Some parents are worried about the 'teddy fone'.

It is thought mobile phone radiation is harmful for children.

25 percent of British children have a mobile phone.

News Protests in Hong Kong

There have been huge demonstrations in Hong Kong.

The World Trade Organisation conference was held there.

There were clashes with riot police.

Seventy people were injured.

Police arrested nine hundred protestors.

Many were farmers from South Korea.

Most of the other demonstrations have been peaceful.

The World Trade Organisation's role is to encourage free trade.

Recipe Toad in the Hole

Ingredients

8 sausages

100 grams flour

Pinch of salt

1 egg

250 ml milk

25 grams oil

Recipe Toad in the Hole

Sieve flour and salt into a bowl

Make a hole in the centre

Break in the egg and half of the milk

Whisk until smooth

Pour the remainder of the milk in slowly

Whisk again

Recipe Toad in the Hole

Put to one side

Place sausages in a tray with the oil

Put in a hot oven gas mark 8 or 230 degrees

Cook for 5 minutes to 10 minutes

Remove from the oven and pour in the batter mixture

Return to the oven and cook for 15 mins to 20 mins
