Well, 2020 is now upon us and 2019 looks real good in the rear view mirror. I

wanted to wait till after New Years Eve to write this article so I could include all

the details of my crazy welcome to 2020 which we celebrated at Top Golf with

some great people; plus I needed some time to recover.

Here are some things I learned on NYE… Andrea has a great golf swing, with a

little time on the range she can be a deadly scramble partner. Denise’s competitive

spirit takes about three and a half minutes to kick in at the driving range. Caleb and

Johnson know every word to every 90’s hip hop song. Ashley can’t hit a golfball

and stand still at the same time; and I have some really great friends.

The New Year can be different things to different people. For some, it is a time to

make a resolution to smoke less, smile more or a promise to be the same ol grump

you were for 2019. It may also be an opportunity to forgive a past transgression or

ask forgiveness from an old friend; and to others… it is just another trip around the

Sun.

Whatever the New Year means to you, I hope it sparks something wonderful in

your life that ripples through the rest of 2020.

The Mad Cow Rambler crew came out to Poor Farmer’s for the second annual Fat Tire Race through the campground. These cyclists sling mud all over themselves in the name of fitness. Who am I kidding, they are in it to win it. This year they had 25 bikes registered for the 30 mile race. They ran through the campground and down the railroad tracks for a total of 9 laps at just over 3 miles per lap. Out of those 25 registared, there was one young man, age 11, who gave it a go. I guess we will call him a slightly agitated calf since he isn’t quite a member yet. The Mad Cow Ramblers appreciate the use of the campground for their race and hope to return next year.
