This new diagnostic assessment tool tests core concepts and provides students with access to individual study paths for self-remediation. These paths are carefully designed to offer self-study options and to appeal to a variety of learning styles. Instructors can use HM Assess to quickly gauge which students are in jeopardy and which concepts to spend extra time reviewing.

Chapter assessment
Within the Eduspace course, chapter assessments test students on core concepts from that chapter.

Chapter assessment
Depending on instructor preference, students can take each chapter assessment multiple times.

Assessment results – individualized study path
Once the student submits their answers to the chapter assessment, HM Assess shows them which questions they got correct and incorrect and allows them to review their work.
HM Assess also generates an individualized study path for that chapter for the student, pinpointing which objectives they have mastered and which they need to study.

Remediation to suit all learning styles
Clicking on any objective allows the student a choice of study resources for that objective. The student can use any or all resources.

Instructors control which assessments students have access to, how often students can take them and whether or not the assessment results are tracked in the Eduspace gradebook.
If the results are tracked in the gradebook, the instructor can see the student’s score for each assessment plus the detailed answers the student gave to each question and the student’s individualized study path exactly as the student sees it.
Tracking results also allows instructors to use HM Assess Reports to analyze student assessment scores.

Tracking assessment results in the gradebook
When instructors track results for an assessment in the gradebook, they can click a student’s score for that assessment to see the detailed results and the student’s individualized study path for that chapter.

HM Assess ReportsIn addition to viewing individual student assessments in the gradebook, instructors can use HM Assess reports to analyze student assessment scores. Instructors can choose which students to include and set what average assessment score to use for identifying “at risk” students.

HM Assess Reports Reports roll up class performance on assessments and compare individual students to the class average. Students whose averages put them at risk are highlighted.
Instructors can print reports or save them to Excel format for additional analysis.

Additionally, the At Risk Snapshot graphically shows instructors what percentage of their class is at risk.
