UCLA is 20-2 when holding an opponent to two runs or fewer and OSU is 21-0 in the same scenario.. USC’s Bobby Stahel has a .441 average in Pac-12 play... starters WSU’s Ryan Walker (1.25) and Cal’s Daulton Jeffer-ies (.135) each have sub-2.00 ERA against Pac-12 opponents.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: USC’s AJ Ramirez and WASHINGTON STATE’s Ryan Walker earned Pac-12 Player and Pitcher of the Week honors. For WSU its its third pitching hono of the season, USC won its second player of the week.

Ramirez (Bakersfield, Calif.), who was also named to Collegiate Baseball’s national players of the week, had four multi-hit and four multi-RBI games last week for the Trojans. He hit an even 9-for-18 and had a 1.22 slugging percentage. Seven of his nine hits were for extra bases, as he drove in two against CS Fullerton on Tuesday and then followed it up with 10 RBIs in the series win over Utah.

Walker (Arlington, Wash.) in two starts last week, scattered six hits over 11.2 innings, struck out 12 and walked three. At Washington last Monday, the freshman pitched 4.2 shutout innings en route to the 3-0 win. On Sunday, the righthander scattered two hits over 7.0 scoreless frames, striking out seven and walking one, as the Cougars lost in extra innings. Walker is riding a 16.1 inning scoreless streak.

THIS WEEK’S RANKINGS: UCLA (33-11) dropped to No. 5 in Col-legiate Baseball, California (29-15) moved up to No. 9, Arizona State (29-15) dropped to No. 10 and USC (32-14) and Oregon State (29-14) are No. 18 and No. 19 in the rankings. In Baseball America, UCLA remained at No. 2, Arizona State is now No. 9, USC is No. 15 and California returned to the rankings at No. 23.

THURSDAY: Elliott Carey hit a one-out, two-run single in the tenth to lead Oregon State to a 4-2 victory over Washington on Thursday eve-ning. Washington starter Noah Bremer struck out six over 5.l shutout innings for the Huskies and Andrew Moore gave up two runs on two hits, with six strikeouts over 7.2 innings for the Beavers.

FRIDAY: Washington evened its series with a five-run fifth to lead the Huskies to an 8-6 win on Friday. Austin Rei drove in five with a two-run homer in the fifth and a three-run homer in the seventh, going 3-for-5. Washington rapped out 14 hits, as four others had multi-hit games.

SATURDAY: Travis Eckert (5-0) pitched 7.2 shutout innings, allow-ing three hits to take the series with Washington, 4-1. Mitch Hicky pitched the final four outs for his eighth save as the duo combined on a four-hitter.

Gonzaga at #2 UCLA, UCLA Takes Series with walk-off single

FRIDAY: UCLA reliever David Berg set an NCAA record with his 162nd career relief appearance, tossing the final innings of a 3-0 win over Gonzaga in the series opener. James Kaprielian (8-4) became the first eight-game winner in the Pac-12 with 7.2 shutout innings, as he, Grant Dyer and David Berg combined on a five-hitter. Berg secured his 46th career save.

SATURDAY: Gonzaga scored four of its five unearned runs in the sev-enth to break a 1-1 tie and even the series and win 6-1 on Saturday evening. UCLA was 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. SUNDAY: UCLA won its series following a one-out, walk-off single by Ty Moore to give the Bruins a 6-5 win over Gonzaga. The Bulldogs had scored in four of the first five innings to lead 5-1, before UCLA eventu-ally tied it in the sixth with three runs. Moore finished with three hits.

#6 Arizona St. at #13 California, Cal wins with back-to-back wins in its last AB, Cal hits .351 for the series

FRIDAY: With UCLA idle in Pac-12 play, Arizona State moved to within 1.0 game of first place following a 5-3 win over Cal on Friday. Trever Allen hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to put ASU up for good. ASU starter Seth Martinez could not get out of the fifth, giving up two runs on 10 hits and reliever Eder Erives gave up a run over the next 2.0 innings to tie the game at 3-3. Ryan Burr secured his Pac-12 leading 13th save with a scoreless ninth.

SATURDAY: Aaron Knapp’s two-out, walk-off RBI single evened the series with the Sun Devils and gave Cal a 5-4 win. ASU had tied the game in the seventh as both teams traded runs to make it 3-3 after three innings against ASU’s Ryan Kellogg and Cal’s Ryan Mason.

SUNDAY: Cal used a four-run eighth to comeback and take the series with ASU following an 8-6 win. Eight Cal starters had hits.

SATURDAY: Derek Chapman had four hits as WSU evened its series with the Wildcats, 5-3. Shea Donlin broke the 3-3 tie in the seventh with a two-out, two-run single. Bobby Dalbec homered for the Pac-12 leading 14th time. SUNDAY: A one-out routine flyball in the 11th inning instead dropped and led to two runs and an eventual 2-0, series clinching win for Ari-zona. Bobby Dalbec had pitched 8.0 shutout innings with six strikeout for the Wildcats and Ryan Walker countered with 7.0 shutout innings with seven strikeouts for host WSU.

SATURDAY: AJ Ramirez hit his first collegiate grand slam to lead USC to the series win, 8-5 over Utah on Saturday. Bobby Stahel had three hits and Ramirez finished with five RBIs and three hits as the duo combined for six of the 13 hits by the Trojans. Cody Scaggari drove in three for the Utes.

SUNDAY: After tying it in the bottom of the ninth, Biss Larsen hit a walk-off three-run homer in the tenth to give Utah an 8-5, series finale victory. Utah’s Brett Helton pitched 4.0 shutout innings out of the bullpen and Brock Duke (2-4) followed wiht 2.0 innings as USC went up 5-3.
