C. Helpful Tips for Enjoying Your Sauna Sessions

1. Preparing For Your Infrared Session

Your Health Partner® Sauna is equipped with special far infrared heaters. The infraredheat waves reach the body directly, without having to heat the intervening air inside thesauna. With this system, breathing is more comfortable and the atmosphere inside thesauna is more enjoyable than in a conventional sauna.

1. Always drink plenty of water before, during, and after a session. Doing sowill replenish fluids lost duringperspiration.

2. Do not eat anything at least 1 hour before yoursauna session. It is best to use your sauna on anempty stomach. You are more likely to feeluncomfortable during sauna use if you have afull stomach.

3. Choosing to take a hot shower orbath prior to the sauna session willpromote increased perspiration, butmake sure to dry off thoroughly after

4. Provide at least 2-3 towels. One towel folded over several times to cushion the bench and another towel on the floor to absorb perspiration. A third towel can be used to wipe away excess sweat.

5. Start up your sauna and selectyour desired session temperatureand time using the control panel.(See Page 11)

bathing to prevent staining of the sauna’s interior.

6. Allow approximately 15 to 30 minutes for the sauna to warm up before beginning a session. Warm up time is subject to the surrounding environment and varies with each unit.

2. Setting Session Time & Temperature

Your body will probably need a few weeks to fully adaptto a regular use of your sauna. Here are some averageguidelines for setting the time and temperature onceyou are used to the sessions:

3. Useful Information and Tips

1. Make sure you have a towel on the floor and on the bench of the sauna to absorb perspiration. To maintain a clean and pleasant atmosphere inside your sauna, remove any damp towels immediately after your session. Do not leave them on the bench or floor.

2. Be sure to towel off any excess sweat during your session to help your body freely perspire.

3. Do not put any lotions or oils on the body or face prior to using the sauna. This can block the pores and hinder perspiration.

4. To make the most out of your sauna session you can work your muscles while using the sauna. Stretch or massage your arms, legs, etc. to help relieve sore or tense muscles. If you wish to achieve a deep heating effect to a specific area you can move that area closer to a heater.

5. Your sauna’s heaters will periodically turn off and on in order to maintain your desired temperature level inside the sauna.

The ceiling vent in your sauna’s roofpanel can be opened at any time tointroduce fresh air into the sauna.

6. If you feel the need for more cooling, simply leave the sauna door open until the air around you feels comfortable.

Drink plenty of water before, during, and after each sauna session toreplenish fluids lost through perspiration.

7. Do not immediately shower after your session is over. Since your body is heated during the session, it will continue to sweat even after the heaters are off. Simply sit in the sauna with the door open and let your body cool down.

Once you feel comfortable enough, take a warm or cool shower to rinsethe perspiration off your body.
