RENOLIT EXOFOL FX

New to Canada, but proven in Europe with more than 35 years of practical use in a variety of climates, Renolit EXOFOL FX is a new option for applying colour to the exterior of PVC window frames that is bold, durable and long-lasting.

EXOFOL FX is a high-performance acrylic-based exterior film that is permanently bonded to the exterior PVC window frame. The film is weather- and UV-resistant and retains its finish and colour throughout its service life.

The film also features a contemporary stipple emboss finish that pairs well with modern home exteriors. Its low surface tension means that it can be wiped clean easily and it also resists chalking, cracking and fading—EXOFOL FX’s durability is greatly superior to basic paint-covered window frames and is backed by a 10-year warranty. It is stable in seaside applications and is not harmed by salt air.

Currently available in five of our highly-requested colours suitable for a variety of architectural styles, Renolit EXOFOL FX is the superior choice for adding colour to PVC windows and curb appeal to new homes.

You already know that All Weather Windows PVC windows are

known for their innovative designs and unique features. And

that PVC windows have excellent insulating qualities and resist

moisture and corrosion. They’re also affordable with a

maintenance-free frame and have a long life span.

But options for adding colour to PVC window frames have been

mostly limited to paint and metal cladding. Paint is less than

ideal, since it requires additional maintenance and simply

doesn’t last. Metal cladding is durable and attractive but comes

with additional costs.

One great alternative that keeps costs manageable while

maintaining window durability is lamination. The lamination of a

durable film to PVC has been around for more than 35 years in

Europe and All Weather Windows is proud to introduce this

process to our customers in the Canadian marketplace.

Our Apex 9100 series of windows now comes with the Renolit

EXOFOL FX colour option, boosting a home’s curb appeal while

enhancing durability. We’ve also added our fixed window style to

the 9100 series just for EXOFOL FX, ensuring a seamless look

when paired with our casement or awning styles.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Renolit EXOFOL FX has a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)

and polyvinylidene fluoride film (PVDF) multi-layer construction.

The protective surface is made up of a combination of transparent

PVDF as the top layer, followed by the transparent PMMA middle

layer. The base layer is a pigmented acrylic base film that

includes infrared reflective pigments for Solar Shield Technology,

which reflects heat away from the window. This unique

combination of polymers provides reduced heat absorption,

improved UV resistance and excellent long term weathering.

The combination of these layers and their unique qualities gives

Renolit EXOFOL FX its extreme durability and resistance to

weather, along with excellent colour fastness and gloss retention.

And EXOFOL FX contains no PVC, making it both unique and much

more resilient compared to other exterior PVC-based films.

10-YEAR WARRANTY

Performance: fading or other performance-related issues that

may occur with the Renolit film are covered under warranty for

repair or a complete replacement of the window.

Lamination: the lamination process for the Renolit EXOFOL FX

film is warrantied for 10 years through All Weather Windows.

Window: All Weather Windows’ Apex 9100 series windows are

covered under a 10-year warranty, which includes peeling,

bubbling, cracking, flaking, or chipping of paint on PVC windows.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

The Renolit EXOFOL FX, once applied, bonds to the window

profile with an immense strength that is fostered through our

polyurethane reactive (PUR) hotmelt process. The PUR reacts

chemically when exposed to atmospheric moisture at the time

of lamination, creating a cross link between profile and film

that results in a strong, durable bond. This bond cannot be

reactivated and will withstand the harshest conditions, from

extreme heat to extreme cold.

THE PROCESS

• The PVC profile is passed through air blowers to remove debris

and any static charges.

• The primer is applied and heated to 50˚C—this ensures that

the PVC permanently bonds to the film.

• Glue is applied to the film before passing the profile and film

through the machine, which uses rubber rollers to make the

PVC and film look like a single component.

Renolit EXOFOL FX has gone through more than 12 years of real

weather testing at independent and professional test facilities in

many world climates, including Arizona, Florida, Germany and the

South of France. It has also gone through many thousands of

hours of accelerated weather testing. Renolit EXOFOL FX has

stood up to each climate and all forms of testing with proven

strength and excellent weather resistance.
