The Public City Transport
Enterprise of Novi Sad
We are honoured to invite you to the sixth international conference
Towards a Humane City which is held 26-27 October 2017, traditionally
in Novi Sad. It has passed ten years since the initiative for organizing the
first conference, which is the reason for marking this conference as a
jubilee. We are proud for being able, thanks to unselfish support of
colleagues from the country, region and wider, to gather scientific and
expert public, decision makers and ultimate users, with the aim of
solving common problems of urban mobility and mutual responsibility
before new challenges.
The goal of this conference is to incite new forms of dealing with
contemporary problems and initiate common actions which will lead to
a new dimension of planning and faster affirmation of smart mobility in
Southeast Europe cities and towns.
In the previous decade modern technological innovations have been
successfully implemented in the field of transportation resulting in a
significant change of travel demands and measures in traffic
management systems. This conference target is to try together to find
answers to the following questions: How to adapt introduction of
certain technological innovations, regulations and economic measures,
to local conditions, how to justify, fasten and institutionalise them?
Which are their advantages and disadvantages? How to adapt
educations system to those intensive changes? How to incite the
development and competitiveness of the economy in this field in
Southeast Europe cities and towns?
This time we want to show that “smart city” means “intelligent mobility”
in all aspects of sustainability. It is the precondition of economic
prosperity, social equality and environmental quality.
