Head out on a 50 cent hayride through Wildwood and hop on a pony ($5/ride). Trail travels 10.81 miles from the Joliet Iron Works Historic Site north through Lockport and Romeoville to the Cook County linewhat it OFFers. Biking, Hiking and running through connections to the Forest Preserve District’s Centennial Trail, which travels north 3.16 miles to Schneider’s Passage/Isle a la Cache in Romeoville. This flat, crushed limestone segment of the trail travels along the I&M Canal through woodland. At the Cook County line, the north end of the trail connects to the Forest Preserve District of Cook County’s Centennial Trail.

DuPage River Trail Shorewood • JolietlOCatiON. The Forest Preserve District has developed three segments of the trail, totaling 7 miles in Will County. The southern segment may be accessed from the following locations: Hammel Woods - Crumby Recreation Area (Black Road, Shorewood), Hammel Woods - DuPage River Access (Black Road, Shorewood), Hammel Woods - Route 59 Access (Route 59, Shorewood)what it OFFers. The DuPage River Trail is a work in progress through a partnership between the Forest Preserve District and 12 other agencies. The trail is planned to travel 34 miles from Channahon north to DuPage County. Officials from the Forest Preserve District of Will County and the Naperville Park District gathered at Knoch Knolls Park in Naperville on Tuesday, May 17, to break ground for a 1-mile extension of the DuPage River Trail.

Lake Renwick Bikeway PlainfieldlOCatiON. The Lake Renwick Bikeway travels 3.35 miles through Lake Renwick Preserve. The trail may be accessed from the following locations: Lake Renwick Preserve - Turtle Lake Access (Lockport Street, Plainfield) Lake Renwick Preserve - Plainfield Township Access

Theodore Marsh protects a diversity of habitats, including forest, prairie, wetland, and a portion of Rock Run. This is great for biking running, picnicking and walking. The Rock Run Greenway Trail and Joliet Junction Trail connect to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ crushed limestone I&M Canal State Trail to provide a 16-mile, mostly paved loop trail.

Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve Lemont, ILlOCatiON. Can be accessed from Cass Avenue or Lemont Roadwhat it OFFers. Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve is a forest preserve in southern DuPage County. It is known for its waterfall, which actually is a dam, which is in its ravine. It completely surrounds Argonne National Laboratory.

Isle a la Cache Reservation RomeovillelOCatiON. Located on Romeo Road/135th Street, east of Route 53 in Romeovillewhat it OFFers. Isle a la Cache protects a diversity of habitats, including forest, prairie, wetland, and a portion of the Des Plaines River. Includes trails for biking, hiking and running.

Hidden Lake County Forest Preserve Downers Grove lOCatiON. Located off of Butterfield Roadwhat it OFFers. Two lakes and the East Branch of the DuPage River make the 393-acre Hidden Lake Forest Preserve in Downers Grove an ideal place to fish, hike or just relax. The preserve is one of the few places in the county where visitors can hear spring peepers in the wooded ponds. It’s also home to King’s Grove, a remnant woodland of red, white, and bur oaks.
