*Communion is offered on 2nd & 4th Sundays.*

ST. PAUL’S COMMUNION STATEMENT: Our Lord Jesus graciously shares with us His body and blood to forgive our sins, assure us of salvation, strengthen our faith, and unite us as members of His church. We believe:

That we are sinful human beings in need of forgiveness;

That the Lord’s Body and Blood are truly present in the bread and wine which He offers us;

That through the sacrament we are forgiven of our sins;

and strengthened to live as God’s people. If you share our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we invite you to join us at His table. If you do not wish to take communion, you are invited to cross your arms over your chest and re-ceive a blessing from the Pastor. If you have any questions, please consult the Pastor or a Lay Minister.

COME AS YOU ARE Welcome to St. Paul Lutheran Church! We are a community of believers from all walks of life, who face all kinds of daily struggles and challenges. We don’t have all the answers, but we know the One who does. We don’t always get things right, but by God’s grace we follow the One who never sinned. We are not perfect people, just forgiven people, and you’ll fit in just as you are! You don’t need to bring the perfect clothes or the perfect smile or the perfect family…just yourself, with all your questions or hurts or scars, and let Jesus take it from there!

True or False? 5 Common “Christian” Ideas This August through Labor Day, we will be exploring some common phrases and ideas about God and the Christian faith, such as “Everything Happens for a Reason” or “Faith Can Fix Anything.” Often, however, while these phrases might sound Biblical, they either do not tell the whole story or, even worse, end up misleading us to believe something God never said. Come and join us as we dive into Scripture and see what Jesus says about these issues!

Pastoral Visitation Pastor Ernesto Garcia, our Visitation Pastor, is an important part of the Ministry Team at St. Paul. If you or a loved one is admitted to the hospital or a care facility, or is unable to come to church because of an extended illness or other circumstances, please call Pastor Garcia at 956-682-4697 (home) or 956-270-2272 (cell). He will be happy to make arrangements for a pastoral visit.

GROW

Bible Study | Sundays at 9:30am All are welcome to come and join us on Sundays at 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall as we take a more in-depth look at the Scripture lessons used in worship that day.

Faith @ Home Boxes | Today Glow in the dark stars? Balloons? Awesome water beads and some back to school ideas for moms, dads and grandparents? FAITH5 devotions? They are all in this month’s Faith @ Home boxes to help you continue the important faith conversations at home because, what if every house is God’s house?

LifeLight Bible Study | Aug 21 Join us for a small group Bible Study! Gorlyn and Ruthie Hagerbaumer are hosting a small group LifeLight Bible Study in their home (910 Palm Dr., Alamo, TX) every Wednesday at 7pm. Call them at (402) 630-4260 for more details or to rsvp.

Family Life Groups Part of being a church community is having people to walk through life with you. Family life groups are created for families with young children, but open to families of any age. Each group will consist of 3-4 families who meet monthly in a home. The structure of this group time is flexible and will center around the needs of the group, but in general will include food, fellowship, and a FAITH5 activity from the Faith @ Home boxes. Please follow the QR code to find a registration form or pick up a form by the Faith @ Home boxes inside the sanctuary or outside the gym. After groups are created, copies of these forms will be given to the facilitator of the Life Group to aid in planning. For more information, contact Katie Drefs at (605) 933-2016.
