Our Drive
• We will all board the bus at 9:00 AM• You will each be sitting in the same seats you
ride to school in.• The person you sit by will be your partner to stay
with for the entire trip.• You will be wearing your name tags with
assigned teacher aides names also on them. • You will also have your map and stop sign along
with you.

Zoo Map
• You will all bring your zoo maps that we have been looking at in class.
• I will put yours in your cubby tonight.

Sting Ray Lagoon
• We will all have the opportunity to watch and even touch swimming sting rays!
• The Sting Ray is a marine fish
that uses its pectoral fins like
wings to glide through the water.• This amazing animal has a long tail called its
stinger. This is how the animal got its name.• The Zoos sting rays are completely friendly and
you will be able to pet them!

Petting Zoo
• At the zoo we will also have a chance to go into the petting zoo.
• This is your choice to make whether or not you would like to pet some of the domestic animals.
• These animals include: Donkeys, Ponies, Pigs, Chickens, and other tame animals.

Lion
• This year the zoo has recently added a Lion exhibit.
• The zoo has three lions with one weighing over 400 pounds!
• A lions roar can be heard from 5 miles away!

Frog Exhibit
• The zoo has an entire new exhibit just for frogs and toads!
• Frogs are amphibians- this means they have lived part of their life in water and part on land.
• The exhibit contains 15 different species of frogs and toads!

Chimpanzees
• A chimpanzee is a type of ape not a monkey. • This is the closest living animal • there is to the human species (us!).• Chimps are extremely intelligent • animals and some have even been • taught types of sign language!• At the zoo we will see many chimps • in an open area created to look like their own
environment- Forest/Jungle

Over Stimulation
• The zoo can be an overwhelming environment.
• At any time if you feel over stimulated raise your stop sign and your aide will come to help you.
• There are many places for you to stop and take a break if needed.
