• Area of the town is 66,7 km2

• The first written reference is from the year 1268

• City Spisska Nova Ves since 1992 urban area with a lot of

historically valuable buildings as well as the longest lenticular

square in Europe.

History

• Roman Catholic parish church is the most valuable artistic and

historical monument in the city

• Church tower with its height of 87 m, the highest in Slovakia

dates from 1893

• The Town Hall was built between 1777-1779

• Archaeological findings confirm that the territory of central

dossiers which lies Spisska Nova Ves, was already in the Great

Moravian Empire inhabited by Slavic population.
