    BACK FROM NORTHPhilip A. Livingston, of Chestnutavenue, returned Sunday from atwo-week's canoe trip through thehinterlands of Quebec. When interviewed by a representative of "OurTown" he stated:"Yes, we had a good trip. I fy ou can s pe ak French patois andunders tand the word for whisky ins even languages the nat ives thinkyou belong there."The only thrillingexperience waswhen our canoe shot the dangerous 'Rapides d es Ce dre s on the upperLievre River. Senator Stites, himself aformer burgess of the borough, isat the p re se nt t ime i ts solicitor,and has del eg at ed many o f theduties of that office to Mr. F ry e.As a resul t the candidate is famili ar w it h the affairs of local Government.He received the degree of Bachelor o f A rt s from Stanford Univers ity, Calif. , before the war, andenter ed the ser vice . Fol lowing thewar he entered Harvard Law Schooland received there the degree ofBachelor of Laws. Later he wasadmitted to the bar in Pennsylvania.Mr. Frye has been a r es iden t ofNarberth since 1919 and has joinedin many local activities. He is amember of the Harold D. S pe ak man Pos t, American Legion, a pastmember of the Tennis Associationand is president of the Fathers' Association of the Boy Scouts.Four o f th e seven members ofCounci l in the borough reach theend of their terms this year.
