Good afternoon Parents, carers and friends of Greenwich Public School.
The NAPLAN results were released last week with results going home to parents for year 3 and year 5. Greenwich
Public School has once again performed well in both years. Congratulations to students on their outstanding
results and also to the teachers who have implemented great teaching strategies to achieve these results. Please
remember that NAPLAN represents a snapshot of student achievement taken at this time during one week of a
year.

Greenwich Public School has obtained some additional cleaning on both campuses. It is welcomed by us as we are
proud of the recent changes to our playground and school and the cleaning helps to provide a lovely environment
as well. Additional teams will be working across both sites over the next week including the weekend to ensure
Greenwich is shining.
I am requesting some assistance from our school community with both parking and playground usage after hours.
Firstly our parking outside the Kingslangley Road site of an afternoon and morning is extremely tight. We have
teachers who are on duty some days up to 3:50pm watching children to ensure they are safe. I have had reported
to me lately as well as observing myself some unsafe practices when children are being collected from the school.
Please observe safe practices when dropping or collecting your child from the school. U-turns, double parking,
calling children to your car across the crossing, parking in the bus bay and crossing the road with children in an
area that is not the designated crossing are all practices that may lead to an accident. I ask that you understand
that teachers are there as a duty of care for your children and are ensuring that our school is a safe environment
for all.
The first thing that impressed me about Greenwich
Public School is the beautiful environment that we all
enjoy using. Recently it has been reported to me that
some children are using the school at a weekend as a
bike and scooter track and we have some
environmental damage that is occurring due to the
soft nature of the soil. I am seeking your assistance if
you are using the school of a weekend and see this
behaviour please ask them to move on elsewhere or to
use the site sensibly.
Lastly the equipment on our site is often used by
parents of an afternoon. As our school grounds are
classified as Inclosed Lands we have no responsibility for any injury that may take place after hours. This includes
school days and weekends. GOOSH use the playground in the afternoon and morning as part of a contractual
arrangement with our department.
Thank you for your co-operation with these matters.
Our implementation of the LMBR systems continues with the “Go- Live” date approaching quickly. Greenwich
Public School “Go- Live” on September 5 and we are in full swing with our preparations. Thank you for your co-
operation with our processes leading up to this. If you have any outstanding payments we would appreciate them
being made by Friday 26 so our administration team can process all monies before the “GO Live” date.
Our annual Father’s Day Breakfast at the K/1 campus (Greenwich Road) is on Friday 2 September. We hope that
our Dads or Grandfathers can join us on this important occasion.
Best wishes for a wonderful week.
