1.Introduction
1.1 GeneralThe Town of Smithtown has retained JGAS in October 2013 to conduct a
Phase II ESA concerning the roert! "nown as 12 #ebe$ #oad% which is $ocatedin Smithtown% Ontario &Figure 1'( #ebe$ #oad is comrised of a )ormer )$eet*aintenance +ard that has since been abandoned( Se,era$ areas ha,e con-rmedsoi$ or groundwater contamination as a resu$t of the acti,ities erformed whi$ethe site was an oerating )$eet *aintenance +ard(
In 2011 the Town of Smithtown re$ocated the .eet maintenance faci$it! toa new $ocation% since then the site has remained unde,e$oed( In 2012% theschoo$ board indicated interest in bui$ding a ub$ic schoo$ on the roert!( In thesring of 2012% the Town of Smithtown hired /$eanu /onsu$tants to conduct aPhase I En,ironmenta$ Site Assessment &ESA' to determine areas of otentia$concern $ocated on the #ebe$ #oad site% the resu$ts of which are shown in Tab$e1( ased on this information JGAS has determined a sam$ing $an
