HOLY FATHER’S PRAYER INTENTION FOR JULY

The Integrity of Justice

That priests, those who administer justice may

work with integrity, and that the injustice which

prevails in the world may not have the last word.

FATHER LEDOUX’S PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR JULY

WORSHIP: Through our parish novena to St. Anne this month: may she, who formed the Blessed Virgin Mary by witness and faithfulness to God’s will, intercede for us as a parish community to remain always trusting and faithful to the Will of God in our lives.

FAITH FORMATION: As the first and primary teachers of the Faith to their children, may our parents be aided by our prayer for them and our personal witness to an active practice of our Catholic Faith.

EVANGELIZATION: May the celebration of our Nation's independence this month serve as a reminder of the Founding Fathers of our Nation's intent that God NOT be absent from our lives in the public square.

SOCIAL JUSTICE: That Sacramental Marriage, as an institution of Almighty God between one man and one woman, may be defended and promoted within the life of the Parish Family and our civil community.

BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES: As each of us prays about our own personal commitment to our Combined Capital Campaign for St. Peter and the Diocese, we ask direction of the Holy Spirit so that in all we do it may Glorify God and lift up one another.

KOBONAL HOUSING – Special Thank You! YOU BUILT HOPE!

In the Central Plateau of Haiti, in the village of Kobonal, having access to safe shelter is a privilege few can afford. Born into a poverty that has plagued their families for generations, many of the country’s poorest people live in makeshift structures made of wood scraps, sticks, and sheets of plastic and tin. These living conditions are inhumane - and a health risk, especially for the children. Still, this life of poverty goes on because these families see no other option. They have lost any hope they might someday enjoy a safe, sturdy home. Then, you intervened! You came into this desperate situation and brought joy to the poor by offering hope and new beginnings! Your gift to Cross Catholic Outreach helped build homes for needy and deserving families in and around the Kobonal Haiti Mission under the leadership of Father Glenn Meaux, and he poor’s lives have been forever changed. Fr. Meaux’s staff completed 80 cement-block homes for he 2018 calendar year, and 80 more are scheduled for the 2019 calendar year. Each new completed home stands as a testimony to the power of compassionate people like you! Psalm 127:1 tells us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” When you allowed God to move through you, our Lord’s compassion was revealed in a powerful and tangible way. Something profound was accomplished. And these families were given more than just a home – they felt the mercy and love of God himself!

HOPE REBORN! We can’t thank you enough for your generosity in helping provide homes for needy families in Kobonal! oy and hope were reborn there. The love of Christ was proclaimed. And all of this was possible because you were obedient to God’s call to care for the poor. Because of your kindness, impoverished families now have solid houses and firm foundations upon which to rebuild their lives. Because of your faithfulness, the poorest of the poor are becoming self-sufficient and strengthened in the knowledge of God’s love. Your gift didn’t just help Cross build homes here in Kobonal – it helped build up the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. Thank you for spreading hope!

BEFORE AFTER

THANK YOU! Fr. Ledoux wishes to thank everyone for their prayers for his good health. He is grateful to report that all test results were favorable.

PRAYER FOR THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL

Feast Day, July 16th

“Mary’s purpose is . . . to call the world back to simplicity, to the essentials: conversion, prayer and the sacraments.” ~Pope Benedict XIV

O most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, blessed

Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein that you are my Mother. O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succor me in this necessity; there are none that can withstand your power. O show me herein that you are my Mother. Our Lady, queen and beauty of Carmel, pray for me and obtain my requests.

Sweet Mother, I place this cause into your hands.

FRIDAY FAST FOR LIFE Join others around the Diocese in fasting on Fridays from 8:00am until 12:00pm for the attacks on human life in our society.

POST ABORTION HEALING:

RACHEL’S VINEYARD RETREAT A Rachel's Vineyard weekend retreat is an opportunity for any man, woman, couple, grandparent, sibling, or anyone who struggles with the emotional or spiritual pain of abortion. This weekend retreat provides participants the opportunity and space to enter the grieving process, identify effects the abortion has had and release deep feelings of anger, shame, and guilt that frequently accompany an abortion experience. This unique retreat process is designed specifically to help retreatants experience the gentleness, mercy and compassion of Jesus as they walk the journey from pain to forgiveness. Participants re-connect on a spiritual level with the children who have been aborted and give them honor and dignity through many special exercises as well as in a memorial service. Those who journey through their grief allow God to transform their experience into one that brings hope, liberation and peace.

When: October 4-6, 2019 (Respect Life Weekend)

Time: Friday, 6:00 p.m. - Sunday, 3:00 p.m.

For more information about the retreat weekend and/or to register contact: Trista @ 337.261.5598. Pre-registration required. All inquiries are confidential.

PRO-LIFE REFLECTIONS

After sending them all outside, He… entered the room where the child was… and said to her… “Little girl, I say to you, arise!” ~ Mk 5:40-41

REFLECTION: When a fire is reported, the firemen do not sit around the fire house and have a prayer service. They go to where the fire is. When a priest gets a sick call, he goes to the bedside of the sick person. The same is true with abortion. We are called to show up at the places where the killing occurs. This expresses solidarity with them in their hour of greatest need.

PRAYER: Enable Your people, O Lord, to give each other the gift of presence.

ATTENTION: Current 1st, 8th & 10th grade Catholic school students

Check with your church parish to register for First Communion (2nd graders), 9th grade Faith Formation and 11th grade Confirmation classes. Registration usually occurs during the summer through July.

A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT FIFTEENTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME

Today’s Gospel turns our attention to one of Jesus’ most familiar stories, the Parable of the Good Samaritan. It is about living how God intended us to live: to acknowledge God’s divine love and compassion lavished upon us, and to extend that love and compassion upon others without reservation. We can find a lot of reasons for not stopping to help someone. We can talk ourselves out of being Good Samaritans. Strangers are not our responsibility, or are they? Good stewards understand that God’s mercy is a gift that must be shared, and that doing the right thing, acting as Jesus would act toward others, is the only course of action for one who lives according to the demands of the Gospel. How might you be a Good Samaritan this week?

ROSARY FOR PEACE - A Rosary for peace for our country & our soldiers will be prayed every Thursday before 6:30am Mass.
