CHOIR PRACTICES ~ Practice for the Sunday Choir is scheduled for Mondays at 7:00 PM. Practice for the Saturday Choir is on Thursdays at 5:30 PM.

LAY MINISTRY SCHEDULES ~ Lay ministry schedules for the months of June through September are now available in the church vestibule.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING ~ The Parish Council meeting originally scheduled for June 28th has been moved to July 5th at 11:30 AM.

Today is Trinity Sunday, the feast of the Holy Trinity. To celebrate the Trinity today, we celebrate what we know. We know God is a giver. He gave life in creation. He poured out his love and watchfulness, even as his creatures went their own way choosing to turn their backs to him. He gave his Son for a new beginning, a redemption and the Spirit to

love and guide for the rest of time. His love never stops coming to this world regardless of what happens for his care is for each and every person. Beyond that, God is a mystery, a Trinity of persons, someone we know but will never understand in our earthly existence. Today we offer our worship and praise and thanksgiving.

Catholic Appeal”) directly to the parish office. We are only $2,941.00 from our goal of $30,686.00. If you have not made a donation, please do so. Remember that anything over our goal comes directly back to our parish.

FATHER’S DAY BRUNCH ~ All fathers and sons of the parish are invited to a Father’s Day Brunch in the church hall immediately following the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, June 21st. The ladies and girls of the parish will be preparing and serving the meal. We hope to see all the fathers and sons of the parish there!

CALLING ALL WOMEN OF THE PARISH ~ Help Needed for Father's Day Brunch Plans are being made for the Father's Day Brunch (Sunday, June 21st) sponsored by the women of the parish and REACH students in grades 9 – 12. On Sunday, two shifts are available from 9:00 - 10:30 AM for food preparation and 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM for cooking, serving, and cleaning up.  Please call Terri Leach at 248-1648 to volunteer.  Let's

show our appreciation to the Fathers and Sons of this parish family!

FATHER’S DAY ENVELOPES ~ This year Father’s Day is on June 21st. Father’s Day Mass envelopes can be found in your packet and also at the entrances to the church. Please take time to remember all of our fathers, both living and deceased. The ordinary offering is $10.00. The envelopes will remain on the altar until after the July 4th holiday.

CORPUS CHRISTI CEMETERY ~ It has been brought to our attention that someone has removed the US Veteran (Flag Holder) Cemetery Memorials from several graves. Please call Susan Roberts at 487-4649 with the name of the veteran,

what war they fought in, and if possible, where the grave is located.

Some shocking facts from the latest PEW RESEARCH findings that were just released reveal “Christians Decline Sharpley as Share of Population; Unaffiliated and Other Factors Continue to Grow.”

Anyone who has recently been paying attention will not be surprised by the results of the report. It is an unavoidable fact that the Catholic Church in America is in decline.

Catholics declined from 23.9% of the American population to 20.8% between 2007 – 2014, and in that time “unaffiliateds” (i.e. those who do not affiliate with any religious group) increased from 16.1% of the population to 22.8%. According to the report, that means there are roughly 3 million fewer Catholics today than less than a decade ago, even factoring in immigration and births.

In a nutshell, Americans are leaving mainline Protestant denominations and the Catholic Church in droves, and most are becoming “unaffiliated.” Specifically, 31.7% of Americans grew up Catholic, but only 20.8% are Catholic now – the trickle of people entering the Church is overwhelmed by the tsunami of those leaving it.

Or, to put it another way: for every 1 person who left the ranks of the “unaffiliateds,” another 4.2 people joined. However, for every one person who joined the Catholic Church, 6.5 people left. It doesn’t take a mathematical genius to see where those numbers are trending and what the end result will be.

There needs to be a serious evaluation why the mainline Protestants and Catholics are falling away. One reason I believe is that we are not really taking our faith seriously. It has lost personal conviction. Until we take our faith seriously and express it, no one else will either --- and if they don’t see a value in it, they will leave. Unless we have the same faith as the early Christian Church and are willing to die for it, the Church will be only a remnant of its present “glory”!

Grace and Peace to you!Fr. Bo

The tickets start on July 1, 2015 and continue for the whole month of July. Winning numbers will be determined by the Pennsylvania Lottery Evening Pick Three Drawing: Seventy-five dollars weekday; One hundred dollars weekends; and, One hundred-fifty dollars for the 4 th of July. If you are unable to sell or don’t want the ticket(s), please don’t throw them away, but return them as soon as possible as we always have people looking for extras. If paying by check, please make payable to St. Michael Church. The money raised from the sale of these tickets will help to build up our Parish Treasury. Thank you for your participation and good luck to all!Parish and Finance Council MembersPS Please note: The extraordinary income to the parish that we are depending upon is more important than before since we have some upcoming programs and a new hall is being planned. So, we depend on your further support now and in the future.
