Stewardship Reflection In today’s Gospel, the disciples suggest that Jesus disperse the crowd so that they might individually seek food and lodging. The miracle of the feeding of the five thousand is Jesus’ powerful reminder that when we share our gifts in His name there is always more than enough!

Pastor’s Message
As the Word of God, Jesus is always the center of time. Our celebration of His Most Holy Body and Blood, usually called
Corpus Christi, on this Sunday reminds us to keep Jesus in the Eucharist at the center of our lives and of the life of our parish. Jesus
desires that we live each day in intimate union with him. The Eucharist is for this purpose. In his "Encyclical Letter 'Ecclesia De
Eucharistia', April 17th 2003, the Saint, Pope John Paul II insists that "The Church draws her life from the Eucharist".
I take this opportunity to invite all our parishioners to reflect on how do we appreciate the gift of the Eucharist given out of
Jesus' love for us through the life of our parish and our own life.
The most obvious sign of our appreciation of the gift of the Eucharist is that we joyfully attend the celebration of the Eucharist
on every Sunday as a community of faith. However, as the Eucharist is the center of the Catholic Faith as well as the center of our
parish, all other activities related to the Eucharist should be participated by all members of our parish as long as we are available.
Those are daily Masses, Eucharistic Adoration and studying about the Eucharist etc. These are not an obligation but they certainly
help us to experience Jesus' love for us through his presence in the Eucharist and through them we manifest our faith in the Eucharist
as part of our mission of evangelization.
In today's second reading the letter to the Corinthians tells us about how the Lord Jesus instituted the Eucharist and
concludes: "For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, we proclaim the Lord's death until he comes." (1 Cor 11.26) Today's
Gospel of Year C does not talk about Jesus' institution of the Eucharist, instead about the multiplication five loaves and two fish (Lk
9.13-17). This tells us how much Jesus cares for us even before we ask him. However, the multiplication of Bread and fish is much more
than filling our stomachs but even beyond this as the sign of his concern of our nourishment for eternal life. This points to His
Institution of the Eucharist. This is the most important for all of us as his followers. This brings us deeper into intimacy with Jesus.
"Ecclesia de Eucharistia - The Church draws her life from the Eucharist" St. Pope John Paul II. In this celebration of the Most
Holy Body and Blood of Christ, we are all encouraged to pray that all of us as parishioners of Our Lady of Peace may recognize that
the Eucharist is the Center of the Catholic Faith and the Church draws Her life from the Eucharist as well as us her members must do,
so that we may be able to achieve the mission entrusted to each and all of us as we are mission church.
