September 1st is the annual 'World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation', instituted by Pope Francis shor tly after the release of "Laudato Si," his 2015 encyclical on humanity's respon-sibility to the environment that calls for Christians to be good stewards of creation. Pope Francis stated, “The annual 'World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation' will offer individual believ-ers and communities a fitting opportunity to reaffirm their personal vocation to be stewards of creation, to thank God for the wonder-ful handiwork which he has entrusted to our care, and to implore his help for the protection of creation as well as his pardon for the sins committed against the world in which we live.!!Plan on joining Father Dolan, Father Matt and fellow parishioners as we take time to renew our appreciation of our “common home” and thank God for the gift of creation as we explore the night sky with awe and wonder.!!!
