EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
4 204
Easter Sunday
“Christ is alive! We need to keep reminding ourselves of this, because we can risk seeing Jesus Christ simply as a fine model from the distant past, as a memory, as someone who saved us two thousand years ago. But that would be of no use to us: it would leave us unchanged; it would not set us free. The one who fills us with his grace, the one who liberates us, transforms us, heals and consoles us is someone fully alive. He is the Christ, risen from the dead, filled with supernatural life and energy, and robed in boundless light. That is why Saint Paul could say: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile” (1 Cor 15:7). 125. Alive, he can be present in your life at every moment, to fill it with light and to take away all sorrow and solitude. Even if all others depart, he will remain, as he promised: “I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Mt 28:20). He fills your life with his unseen presence; wherever you go, he will be waiting there for you. Because he did not only come in the past, but he comes to you today and every day, inviting you to set out towards ever new horizons. 126. See Jesus as happy, overflowing with joy. Rejoice with him as with a friend who has triumphed. They killed him, the holy one, the just one, the innocent one, but he triumphed in the end. Evil does not have the last word. Nor will it have the last word in your life, for you have a friend who loves you and wants to triumph in you. Your Savior lives.” These words are taken from Pope Francis’ latest document, Christus Vivit, addressed to all the People of God especially young people. These words summarize what we focus on today but celebrate every day. The joyous reality that Jesus is alive and desires to be close to us. We are never alone. Jesus desires that we reach out to Him every day. This joy is contagious and meant to be shared. It is a boundless joy for me to serve you as your pastor. I pray for you that your faith, hope and love may continue to strengthen and develop. I ask for your continued prayers as I strive to serve the good people of this parish – You! May the joy of the Risen Christ fill our hearts and our minds. May it overflow into our relationships with one another. May our parish family reflect the mercy, compassion and joy of Christ to everyone we encounter.
Have a Blessed Easter Season!
Fr. Keith
P. Keith

Every child is taught the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be when they are young. But the
Church has a treasury of prayers from her tradition. Each month we would like to highlight a specific prayer and invite you to pray it each day or even to memorize it where it will be secure within
your memory.
Prayer For the month of April
Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next. Amen.

Dios, concédeme la serenidad para aceptar cosas que se puedo cambiar;
Viviendo un día a la vez;
disfrutando un momento a la vez; aceptando dificultades como camino a la paz;
tomando, como lo hizo, este mundo pecaminoso como es, no como yo quisiera;
confiando en que Él hará las cosas bien sí me rindo a su voluntad;
Amen.
